Post 202 - Breezy

I have no idea why this pic is so huge. This is me and Arthur Lebaron, he ran it with his wife and son. He took this pic and then posted it on Kyle's facebook with the caption. Kyle where are you? haha
I forgot to do the whole 200 post thing, so this is post 202 for me. I realized I have done 100 posts since Gus has been born:)
Breezy. You know when you watch the weather guy and he says its going to be a little BREEZY in St. George/Hurricane? Well his definition of BREEZY is way off... I jokingly told a friend when I picked up my race packet that if it was going to be as BREEZY(windy) as it was right then she wouldn't see me there. So 4:50 am rolls around, in the state of mind I am in (Gus and Kyle took turns waking up every hour I literally got maybe 3 hours of sleep) I decide its not THAT BREEZY and I should just get ready and not sleep through another race;) We board the buses and the entire time I am on the bus I am thinking I should run to my car and grab Kyle's sweater that was sitting on the ground in the backseat... Hindsight is 20/20 ya know. We get dropped off in Elim Valley and the moment I step off the bus I knew just what BREEZY meant. I was freezing my hiney off. Luckily there were people there with plastic garbage bags so I made a make shift windbreaker that saved my hiney. I ran with it on until mile 10. The wind gusts were crazy, I felt as if I wasn't moving. I kept thinking that as soon as I climb the enormous Sand Hollow hill the wind would die down. Well I climb the dang thing and it was 100 times more gusty! I was freezing, not in half marathon shape, and hating the BREEZY gusts every step of the race. There was a police truck a couple ladies behind me following us and I thought for sure I was one of the last runners on the course. So I booked it, well I told my mind I was booking it I think I was doing 13-14 minute miles by the last two miles of the race;) I didn't want to be the last runner or even considered one of the last. I mean how embarrassing is that! I told Kyle this and he told me there were lots of people behind me, if I had only known I would have walked a little of the last two miles. I finished definitely not my fastest race, but I finished. It took me 160 minutes, and I was so happy to be done to squeeze both of my boys! My sweet hubby played with the boy and kept him entertained while I ran!!

I just checked weather.com. Windy 20 mph with gusts of 30 mph. crazy crazy

slum

Our backyard, it has come a long way since this day one year ago almost to the day. The sand box is still a work in progress, as well as the garden spot. This year the garden spot is literally a garden spot, but next year it is going to prob be planter boxes around the perimeter and pavers or somethin? We were too cheap to buy the already grown privacy hedges, but some day our cheapness will pay off with some privacy;) I spy with my little eye a baby Gus. Do you spy him?

we got a quote to have the beams and roofing replaced on our patio, so that will be coming soon. Our friends also helped us choose a color to paint the trim on the house. Can't wait to finish that project it will look really good;)

Mmmmm...

I gave rice cereal to Gus on Saturday for the first time. He acted really interested in eating our food so I just decided it was time. As you can see in the pics the first few bites he was impressed I was actually feeding him, then the taste hit him. It is really funny to watch after a few bites he starts to shudder at the taste!

Easter Sunday

Gus just wanted to gnaw on the box that his new book came in. He looked so cute in his new Easter Sunday outfit, but I did not get any pics of him in it. We had a wonderful Easter Sunday. Church was very uplifting, and after our church we got to go to a missionary homecoming. One of Kyle's customers sons just got back from serving in the South. I had 40 minutes from the end of our church to the start of the homecoming (in Santa Clara) to make roll dough and funeral potatoes for a dinner later that evening at my sistas house. I made it, I did forget the diaper bag on our way there so we had to flip around to retrieve it. Gus was wide eyed and bushy tailed Sunday morning he woke up early, when he gets older the Easter bunny is going to come on Saturday. My mom did it that way so Easter sabbath wasn't sabotaged by bunnies and eggs:)

Hip Hip Hop don't stop a rockin

Easter Saturday we celebrated at the Hurricane Easter Car Show. Our to cool for us friends the Funderburks entered their sweet truck into it so we hung with them all day. Macy and Gus had a grand ol time. Gus tried eating Macy's voluptuous legs a couple of times:)

Easter WWF Style

Our annual WWF Easter partay was tonight! We had yummy food, an easter egg hunt, a pinata (Dudy brings one every year), hula hoop contest, and lots of candy!

oh friends

Met up with my cute friend, Leesha and Miles, at the new Yumz frozen yogurt joint in town. Leesh and I have been friends since I think seventh grade. It was so fun reminiscing and getting kid advice from her. I wish she and some other friends lived closer! She has three little ones and I do not know how she does it, I barely function with one;) Yumz was very delish the creamy coconut with strawberries and blackberries is legit! Notice anything different about the photo lee;) our little secret!

team coco

coco scored a goal I think Gus' shirt is good luck!!! on the front it says team coco;)

5 months say what

5 months
this time last year I was puking my guts out, but these past five months have been well worth those morning(all day) sickness days! My little mister is rolling over, wanting to eat grown up food, teething, sitting up for a short period, loving books, is happiest outside, loves when his daddy comes home to get him all hyped up, still taking axid for acid reflux, is happy after tylenol for his poor swollen gums, has had a few sips of water, likes to chew on cold carrots, loves to go on long runs with me, is starting to get stranger danger with people he has never seen before, goes to bed at nine wakes up at 4 to eat then wakes up for the day at 8, loves watching little kids, takes 2-3 naps a day, and loves playing in the bath(well kitchen sink) at night! My little Gus de Bus has taught me so much in such a short amount of time. I love going to get him out of his crib in the morning, he is so excited he kicks his feet, smiles from ear to ear, and giggles even if I don't say a word. He does this thing Kyle calls the "bulldog" where he gnaws on your face trying to eat you up its hilarious. I love being his mommy and being able to calm him down when he is crying. I love that he has taught me patience and how to simplify my life. I love him...

QUIET BOOK GROUP

update on the quiet book page press the link under my blog title:)

Concert In The Park

Gus went to his first concert and loved every second of it! On Thursdays Hurricane has a concert in the park, and last night the Houston Brothers performed. Kyle said the lady who was playing bass played with a big name band but I forgot who (she is left of the bright light behind kyle). We got there late, but the 40 minutes we saw was(were?) awesome. Is it was or were I never know? The droid took the pics so they are awful but we had to capture the event!

Everyday

Remember when I signed up for the Hurricane 1/2 marathon a few months ago? Well, I haven't done a lick of training. I mean I run 1-2 times a week only 2-3 miles, but I haven't done a single long run and the race is in 3 weeks. So yesterday I decided to try a long run. Gus and I did 7 miles, Gus was lazy and basically slept the whole time. I was surprised at how well my lungs felt, the only thing that bothered me were my legs. I ran the Angel Heights route to 700 w, then back to the big loop and around. I felt so bad when I got home I took off Gus' shoes and his little toes were frozen, poor kid. I put 3 blankets on him, but it was pretty chilly that morning. This is my sad attempt at a self timer picture after our run.
Gus loves to watch TV with his daddy. I only let him watch baby signing time in the morning, but when Kyle has him he gets to watch more:) We will lay him on his play mat at night and he will do everything possible to turn his body to the TV. I feel bad we have one of those dumb TV babies, but Summer seems to think it helps with attention span:)
Gus loves to watch cars go by. We usually watch them outside, but unfortunately it snowed!?! in April so we couldn't go outside. If Gus is fussy all I have to do is walk outside and sit on the front porch and he calms down. This kid loves it outside! When Kyle is watching TV and Gus is fussy he sticks him in this position and he stops crying instantly

The mountain in front of our house turns this golden color every evening. Its so pretty, I never noticed it until Kenny pointed it out last year

Greats

Gus and I went to visit Great Grandma Scholzen the other day. He has gotten so big since she last saw him. She could barely re-situate him on her lap. I need to be better at visiting the greats, instead of new years resolutions I decided to do monthly goals. I accomplish more that way, 12 months is waaaay to long for me. So I have dedicated the month of April into visiting the Greats more often!

Cousin Coco with his favorite person Gus! We traveled to the windy city of Cedar to watch Coco play. Kyle went to Denver for 4 days for Miller Welding training so I went with my sis and mom. They won, it was windy, and we stayed in the car. The end

Smooth Moves

so Tuesday night some of my young women showed me a picture they had taken with their phone. The picture was of Kyle in his middle school year book. Next to the picture was this quote from Kdiddy Dirty Money. "My favorite activity is dancing because I have smooth moves." I literally laughed out loud for a good 5 minutes, and so did they! I guess Kyle is trying to teach Gus some of his smooth moves:)

Happenings

I find Gus in the weirdest sleeping positions every morning.
So glad March Mustache Madness is OVER!
Kdiddy and Gus. Kyle got this cool digger for our sandbox from his mom and dad. He used it when he was a little lad. He had it sand blasted, now we just need to get it powder coated. It was bright orange originally so I think that is the color we will go with.

Cousin Coco obviously is a little upset at a call.
Poor Gus doesn't do very well sitting that long, luckily Aunt Amy took a turn to keep him happy.

Gus was crying on the way home. I realize now he couldn't see, poor guy.
