APRIL 2020

While Kyle was working from home we were able to do fun things as a family during the day. We took the kids to the driving range this day. There was the sweetest old man who took a liking to all of the boys and brought them each new golf balls from his fancy golf cart. I love nice people like that. When we first got there an older gentlemen was next to us and picked up his stuff and moved to the opposite side of the range. How Rude It was crazy how many people were there even though there was a pandemic everywhere else. Rona's got nothing on us

We did school everyday. The kids were pretty good at self motivating once I made their checklist sign. Kyle put pavers around the garden. He said a prayer that Gpa Ballard would help him and sure enough he did it amazingly and he didn't have any problems. Usually on things of this nature he ends up having to do it twice. It flowed so well that morning he knew Gpa was there.

Jack doing his school work. A picture of our pantry. We tried fishing Leeds creek then took the kids to another part of the river in Toquerville. We did a drive by on bikes for Gma Linie's Bday. Gus rototilled the garden.  A pic of our greenhouse. Kyle is trying to find the poly stuff for the outside and is having a hard time. Gus stuck in a bucket. I think apple blossoms are my favorite blossoms.

Lots of garden work this month. We've watched a lot of John Wayne movies as a family. WE took the kids to the baseball fields to play baseball one afternoon. Jack is a natural, and Gus is a really good pitcher. We decorated Easter eggs and listened to The Messiah we got cultured that night.

Man after uploading all the pics I realize how spoiled my kids are. We hiked to the third fall with Nicholas, Emilee, Lilee, and Ash & Corry. The kids did so well with no whining. We also went mountain biking one morning. We had Gma Linie and Rash tag along so they could walk along the trail with their dogs.

Easter was a little unconventional this year. It was kind of nice just staying home and being more relaxed. One Saturday we came home and there were chocolate easter eggs all over our yard the kids raced around getting all of them. I found out later it was Mary Lu, but we told the kids the Easter Bunny must have done it. I also told Gus that the bunny isn't Legit. He looked a little surprised and also like he was expecting it not to be legit. We went with Gma Linie and Rash to look for Cedar beeds for her river trip. WE didn't find any tho. We took them to Short Creek, it was a beautiful day.

Gus was all dressed up next to the piano for his distant ZPAFF performance. He did really well. WE slept on the tramp with the kiddos but it started to rain so we ended up in the piano room together. Kinlee's beautiful senior picture. My kids have played so well through this pandemic. They usually fight and whine, I think the good Lord was helping me on that one. It also helped to have Kyle home to put them straight. Four boys is hard. Like really hard. They are aggressive, and can be so mean to each other. Oliver is sensitive, Jack is a beast, I told Gus if he is on board an plays well with the other kids everything is so so so much better. They love playing cops and robbers on their scooters or ez rollers.

I built the kids an epic ramp from Gma Linie's scrap wood from her new chicken coup. It was supposed to be a skateboard ramp, but I used the angles they had leftover and it became massive. So they biked down it mostly. Kyle made the best bbq chicken for Sunday dinner one week. The saddest thing happened. We think the bores finally killed our peach and cherry trees. They had leaves and blossoms and now they are dead. We made rain sticks from shipping tubes we found while cleaning the Scholzen yard. Gus made his a Harry Potter one. He is currently reading the second book. Our friend Maddi White had a bday she lives in the house behind our old house where Dick the cat man used to live. Gma Linie let us take her chocolate popcorn stuff she had leftover from activity days. My kitchen was a disaster afterwards, but it was a lot of fun. For teacher appreciation Rona style we decorated our van with signs then the teachers stood outside and we did a drive by parade for them. Gus made another necklace. He has made a lot. This one is my favorite so far. I framed our family pic that Lindsey painted finally. The big pink flower is what we made for the young women. Kyle didn't think they were great but I thought they were kinda cute. I planted my tomato and daffodil plants from see in the green house. Fighter jets flew over the state of UT during Rona so we drove to the top of the H hill to watch. We should have just watched from home. I think it would have been cooler underneath them.
