Instagram Update

The Jets were playing one Sunday so Kyle got Gus all geared up for the game

This was Kyle's Grandma Scholzen's dresser. I put some TLC into it and a new coat of paint for Gus' room. I think it turned out kinda cute. I just need to find 2 handles for it.

Gus loves bubbles in his bath. He says bubbles, bubbles, bubbles.

We have gone to a lot of Nicholas' games the past few weeks. He plays freshman football and is really good. The last game we went to he scored 4 touchdowns!

This is my favorite time of day.

I was getting ready one morning and there was thunder and lightning. I put Gus on my dresser to watch, and he insisted Teddy watch with him.

This is what Peach Day's did to Gus. I was in the other room and could hear creaking, I walked into his room to find a clown riding a horse.

I finally got around to painting our front door from that awful yellow color I put on it a couple of years ago. In this picture it looks more blue than it really is. It is more minty than blue and I love it.

We got sick a couple of weeks ago. The cold kinda sick, we haven't been sick in so long I forgot how sad it is when Gus gets sick.

Jam making took over my kitchen. Such a yummy dirty mess.

Amy brought Huddy over to play one day (Aleica was in the hospital for PIH). They had fun in the sandbox.

We have had more and more of these lovely beauties on our lawn lately. I cannot wait for fall!

This boy absolutely loves his Taddy, and ankie two (Teddy and two blankies)

We were trying to have prayer the other night, and this little boy would not have it. We would forcefully hold his arms folded, and he would just head butt us and giggle and scream. We finished prayer, I don't know how spiritual it was, then it was straight to bed for him. The next hour consisted of him saying owie then when I went into his room he would giggle and crawl from one end of his crib to the other. He gets like this every once in awhile and I do not know what triggers it!

One night Gus kept saying ap ap ap. I finally figured out he wanted to sit on Taddy's lap.

Let it burn

We have had so much trouble with our back yard grass the last couple of years. If it wasn't grubs then we had fungus, if it wasn't fungus we had shrubs and weeds from the previous owner popping up. We stopped watering it about a month ago and decided to burn the devilish grass. Gus thought it was pretty awesome. My mom did this every year to our side grass that got irrigation water so this was no big deal to me. Kyle on the other hand was a little apprehensive. Lets hope this fixes the problem and our grass in the spring will be beautiful!

Homecoming

Last week was homecoming, and we took Gus to the famous homecoming parade. My mom was driving her bug with the homecoming royalty in it, so that makes 3 parades this year my mom has driven the bug. What do you think Gus associates the bug (or as he calls it cool car) with? Yep, when he sees it he says, candy? He thinks someone is going to throw candy at him. My mom was driving by yesterday, he repeated over and over candy, candy, candy. There were also alumni royalty in the parade, I couldn't recognize them;) but they should be proud. We went to the game later that night, and new there would be no seats in the stands so we brought lawn chairs and parked them on the track. It was so nice being able to let Gus run around and watch fubol(football). He found a new girlfriend there. Her name is Lilly and her parents are Robby and Lindsey Hurst, aren't they cute together?

Strider Strider Strider

Gus' favorite thing right now, his strider bike, and I don't see it changing in the near future. He used to call his bike a mek now it sounds more like mike. He is getting closer to actually saying bike! Even more impressive, is he has mastered Aunt MaryLu's ramp. He can now officially go up and down it all by himself. In this video Kyle is helping him up, but just yesterday he did it all by his lonesome. I am glad it is no longer 110 degrees, I will consider going on a bike ride with Gus past 1 pm now.

Gus at 22 Months

My little mister at 22 months
Goes to bed at 9 wakes up at 9 or 10
Takes 1 nap a day usually at 2 for 2 hours
Loves his chocolate milk (carnation instant breakfast)
Doesn't like bread or cheese right now
Loves bacon, edamames, and nuts
New words lately loy(Deloy our neighbor), enny(Penny our neighbor), touchdown, Jets, man oh man, broken, olin(trampoline)...
Is crazy when he is tired, or when Kyle plays with him in the evenings.
We are letting his hair grow and the ends have a little curl to them
Loves playing in his sandbox, we converted our grow box into his sandbox.
Spends 90% of the day outside
He keeps track of everyone. If he a gray van drives by he says Ash? My sister Ashlee drives a gray van. If Deloy drives by in his truck he says loy then in a questioning tone says envy?
He loves riding his strider bike. He can now officially get up MaryLu's ramp by himself and go down it.
He loves collecting the eggs out of the chicken coup. He will say eggs? then say two eggs. That is how many eggs we get a day so we go outside and get them.
If you ask him what he dreamed about he will say boom booms (fireworks) I got this on video after one of his naps and its pretty funny.
He loves to try and grab Kyle's glasses of his face. This makes Kyle very upset, which usually ends up with Gus crying. Gus thinks it is the funniest thing though...
He loves putting Kyle's pocket knife in his pocket. The other day we were at my sisters and Gus pulled a knife out of his pocket. One of those cheap girly ones, I guess he took it out of granmda's jewelry cabinet and she didn't notice lol. Good thing we haven't taught him how the open, or what they can do.

Cedar Mountain

SPC St. George team had a party on Jeff's property on Cedar Mountain. We went up a little early to hike to Cascade Falls, and to take Gus to Mammoth Cave. It was so nice up there, much better than our 110 degree weather. Gus was so happy he was able to see deer. His favorite movie right now is Bambi, an oldie but he loves it. We taught him to smell the trees, and he kept licking all of them. Jeff made the most delicious food, I am bummed I didn't take a picture of it. Gus was a little freaked out by the caves,  at the end of the video he gets the eebie jeebie shakes. I had to take a picture of Brian and Erica Hawkins little boy Brice. He did the long version of Mammoth cave, the version where you are laying flat on your belly trying to wiggle through the cave. He came out dirty and he was very proud! We left right about sunset so Gus was able to see more deer.

Manti

The week before Peach Days we went to the Sanpete County Fair! yeehaw. Kyle knows one of the drivers in the derby Friday night, and he keeps telling me how awesome the derby is up there so we HAD to go. We stayed at the Gunnison Inn, and ate at my favorite spot Lotsa Motsa. We had time to kill before the derby so we played around at the Manti Temple. A couple had just gotten married so we loved watching them take a gazillion photos with their family and friends. The brides dress was really pretty as long as her bridesmaid dresses, which always makes it better to watch. We loved the details on this old Temple, Gus wanted in as you can see from the above photos he kept pulling on the door knob trying to open it.
The derby was 100% better than the WashCo Fair derby. Gus loved every second of it, which makes my life 100% better. Saturday we woke up and drove home the scenic highway 89 way. We drove through many small towns looking for yard sales, and stopped in Panguitch to eat. We wanted Gus to empty some of his energy so we took him to Panguitch High(that looks more like our elementary) to ride his bike around the track. He was in heaven, until it started POURING on us. We made a lot of good memories on this short trip.

Peach Days 2012

This is all I got from Peach Days. The parade was awesome, 80 something floats were in it. My mom was in it with the VW lovers of Hurricane. She piled a lot of the grandkids in so when they drove by we gave Gus to them. My favorite was the Western Legacy Farm (Iverson's). They are doing a Sleepy Hollow Halloween theme at their ranch. They even had the headless horseman, I am so glad we don't have to drive to Stahlei's in Washington to get our corn mazin on! Funny side note, after the parade Kyle and I were walking down the street to go home, and the headless horseman pulled his horse in front of us so I couldn't go around. Kyle (of course) goes behind all of the spectators so I am left with the stroller on the street with this creepy headless guy blocking me off so I can't move. Kyle is getting mad and telling me to get away, he was thinking this guy didn't know how to handle the horse. So I am backing up trying to get away from this creepy guy when we hear the headless horseman go "Kyle." Then we realized it was Kelby Iverson, Kyle has had many scares with horses so he was freaked out that the horse was going to hurt us... Lol

Sedated Gus

I realized I never documented Gus' sedation. His pediatrician thought he had a heart murmur so she requested he have an ultrasound of his heart. Little did we know it was a sedated ultrasound. It was so sad seeing him loopy like that. Well to our relief they found no heart murmur so $2,000.00 down the drain.
