APRIL 2015

APRIL 2015

Kyle's favorite holiday is Easter. Unfortunately this year and last year Oliver was sick. He was throwing up all day on the day of Grandma Linie's Easter Egg Hunt. We took him over before everyone got their and after finding 3 eggs he puked all over the grass. So I hung out with him while Kyle took Gus to the hunt. Saturday morning we went to the Easter Car Show, one of Gus' favorite things to do, and then we were off to the ranch for the Scholzen get together. It was weird this year. Really quiet, none of Nick's family came, and it was super weird Heidi wasn't there. She was always so friendly and bubbly out there. For our Easter Egg Contest Gus made hot air balloons, I made cacti, Kyle signed his name on an egg, and Oliver brought 2 camouflaged eggs with red dirt all over them. I only remember Kyle's award which was The Person Who Is Going To Give Everyone $10. We listened to conference all of Easter Sunday, took the kids to fly kites between sessions. That evening we went to my moms for her fiesta and hunt. I had to make Gus and Oliver play doh surprise eggs for their baskets. They are obsessed with watching surprise eggs be opened on Youtube. These peeps are making big bucks by opening dumb surprise eggs and showing the kids the toys inside. Its cra cra, but the boys love it especially Oliver.

We did some more puzzles during the month of April. I hate them because they are always left out on the counter and Oliver just throws the pieces all over, but Kyle and Gus have fun doing them.

Gus had his first ever T-Ball game. He is on the Marlins and his coaches are Tricia and Ryan Michler. Gus really likes it, and now we are playing T-ball almost daily outside with my cushions off the outdoor chairs as bases. Gus get infuriated with Oliver most games at our house because he simply does not listen to bossy pants Gus. They are just starting to play really cute together SOME times. One moment Gus is saying good job buddy and the next minute he is yelling at the top of his lungs at poor Oliver. Ollie can hold his own these days though. He will just go and basically wrestle/slam Gus to the ground and try to beat him up. The rule at our house is, once Oliver starts crying that is when you stop. Sometimes the rule is obeyed, but not always.

Gus has had Joy School one of the pictures is when Tricia Michler (one of the teachers) took the kids to learn about the desert at the dinosaur tracks.

Kyle did the Tour De St. George Century. I was so proud of him, I think he was one of the top 13 who finished! We brought him a cold Diet Coke and a candy bar.

We went branding this month as well. It's fun looking through Grandpa's branding book to see the funny things he wrote. He always talks about the weather and this year I think he would have described the weather as pleasant. There was a cool breeze that kept the cedar gnats at bay.

I "made" Kyle plant a garden for FHE one Monday. He was so happy. Its doing great, I have only killed a couple of plants. Well, I didn't kill them some pesky bugs did. My peas are doing wonderfully and the boys love finding the puffy ones to eat.

We took the boys to a Mountain Man Rendevous in Veyo. It was quite the experience. We met Shane Tooke and Indy there. Some of the mountain men and women weren't very friendly folk. It was a very crazy experience. Weird people everywhere...

We went and hiked the new mountain bike trail at the end of Grandma Linie's street for FHE. They are still working on it, but it is going to be awesome when they are done. We just found out that they are extending that road all the way down past the last house which is the Hinton's clear to the end of the canal basically. It is going to be weird, but I guess the city wants people to be able to utilized it to hike 3 falls and such.

I think I was about 26 weeks when I took the picture of my belly. Growing bigger everyday, me and the little bug inside me. I'm definitely bigger with this one than I was with Oliver. I think I only gained 14 pounds with Oliver and I'm already to that point with this one. Lets just say the baby is all of that weight. I was doing pregnancy yoga for a little while but I have slacked off as of late. It was fun watching Oliver and Gus try to copy the moves.

We went and visited Grandma Ballard at Coral Desert Rehab during her stay there. She hated that place. She couldn't stop complaining. I guess she was a hard patient too so I see both sides of her story. She is so swollen from her CHF I wasn't expecting that when we walked in.

We made a couple of trips to Sand Hollow to play while it was nice. We also took many trips around the neighborhood to see the Turkeys that stay in the Hinton's backyard against the wash.

April was a busy month, with only a few sick days with sick kiddos which was nice. I worked on Kyle's old bunk beds for 2 weeks straight. I sanded them clear down to bare wood, some spots I sanded a lot because of the bite marks all over them. Then I painted, sanded again, painted, sanded again, and painted. Then I sealed it, sanded it, and sealed it one last time. Darn things were a lot of work and I'm glad they are done and I am proud at how nice they turned out! The boys weren't sleeping very good during the process of the bunk beds so I was worn out everyday. I think Kyle felt bad, or maybe he really just likes me a lot but he brought me flowers home. Sweet guy.
