Challenge

My friend started a challenge at the beginning of March. The challenge is reading the ENTIRE Book Of Mormon by the last day of the month. That is 17 pages a day. Daunting, yes, but Kyle and I took the challenge. There were days I was really behind, but I am now caught up and will finish Friday. So our reward for doing this challenge is going to the Temple and eating lunch afterwards.

So with all of that being said anyone who wants to enjoy our lovely company and attend the temple with us Friday should come!!!!!!

Rub a Tub Tub

I floss my teeth while Gus is in bath. For the last month or so he always wants the floss string to "floss" his teeth. Mainly he puts it in his mouth around his teeth and pulls it out. It is funny to watch him, he is pretty good at letting me floss his teeth for him. I am amazed at how observant he is. Not only with how I floss, but with everything around him these days. I had to take some bath pictures of this cute boy. I have some of same pictures of him when he was a few months old so it is fun to see the change he is making. He is looking less and less like a baby, it blows my mind!

Neighborly Part 2

The neighbor boy got to have a late night a couple of weeks ago. They watched Elmo, ate dinner, and even got to go to DQ together. Gus was in heaven. I told the neighbor boy I should adopt him the other day, he looked at me and said what if my mom says yes? I told him I would pay her lots of money, he just smiled back at me. I went to the midnight showing of the Hunger Games with his mom a couple days ago and she was telling me they discussed the adoption over dinner. She told him that she loved him and he looked back at her and said Emily loves me too. So cute!

16 Months

16 MONTHS
Cue the Hallelujah Chorus because this little boy has been weaned FINALLY!
Gus is definitely all boy. All day everyday we play with balls, are outside, watching basketball games, playing with the chickens, chasing the cats, and being very rambunctious and hyper.
Gus these days loves to eat pecans, peanuts, edamames, my secret waffles, and ramen noodles
He says hus(horse), mama(grandma), sewie(stewie neighbors cat), teets(treats), pop(popcorn)...
sleeps through the night (most days)

Everything is BIGGER in Texas

Alicia guessed the correct destination therefore she won the prize!!!

My nephew Coco got his mission call last Thursday. It is crazy to me to think of him on his mission. I used to babysit him when he was Gus' age... Amy put up a hug map and everyone guessed where they thought he would go. My guess was Finland, but he is going to HOUSTON TEXAS! We are so proud of him, I am already sad thinking about him going. He leaves June 22nd.

Lake to Lake Relay

I participated in my first ever 50 miler team relay on Saturday. I have never been cool enough to be invited to a team, but finally my dreams came true and I got invited to the Lake to Lake relay by some co-workers. We started at Gunlock Reservoir and ended at Sand Hollow. I had legs 1 and 6. I was the first to run so I ran from Gunlock which was freezing cold and windy, then my next leg was the Man o War trail in Stg. I was so proud of myself I ran 9:00 minute miles on both legs, I was planning on doing at least 10. Running the second leg was so hard, my legs felt like they were 100 pounds each. So each of us besides Debo(pictured above) ran 10 miles, Debo did 12 and did the brutal 8 mile leg at the end. This race so much more fun then I thought it was going to be. The weather couldn't have been nicer, I just wish I would have run more then 1 time the month before. I am so sore I can't hardly walk!! Our team name was Kicking Assphalt.
Below is the team we were trying to beat, and yes we did by a long shot. This is them yelling for their teammate to finish as we were driving away! My co-workers learned that I am a bit competitive;)

Our little farm

Our chickens are getting bigger, and learning how to fly the coup. The liked to perch on the side of the box so we had to splurge and get a bigger box. Gus loves to watch and pester those poor chicks. His favorite thing to do is pretend to throw his ball or balloon in their box, they freak out and try to hide from the giant baby monster coming to destroy them. I am constantly telling him to leave the poor chicks alone. This last picture is of Gus with Stewie, our neighbors cat that thinks we are its owners. Every morning we open the blinds and stewie jumps up on the window sill to say hi. He comes at night to the front window and watches Gus run around the front room.

Neighborly

We have neighbor kids over almost everyday after school. This cute little boy says the funniest things sometimes. For example he calls Kyle "Kyled" with emphasis on the D. I have corrected him many times but I guess he thinks Kyled fits better. The other day Kyle had just got home from his bike ride and was wearing his spandex and this cute boy looked over at Kyle and said Kyle your belly is BIG! I busted up laughing, Kyle says there are two people in the world that don't lie drunks and kids... I told him he should have seen Kyled when he looked like santa claus, so now he is obsessed with asking questions about that. Kyle was outside Saturday and the cute little boy walked over to him and said "oh my goodness Kyle your belly is BIG." I have had a cold today so I missed church (I am his primary teacher) so he brought me over a picture he had drawn and a box of chicken noodle soup. So very thoughtful!  Gus enjoys them most days, sometimes he gets overwhelmed and just wants his own time so we have to send the kids away. We live by some really fun kids that is for sure, some of my fondest memories as a child were made with neighbor friends. I can say the same for Kyle too because he tells me stories all of the time about the Ruesch's  and Slease's.

27

We had a celebration of epic proportion for Kdiddy's 27th Birthday. We had Boston Cream Pie and my mom's chocolate cake. Kyle was kind enough to let Gus blow out his candles. All of our family came over to eat old school chocolate cake and ice cream as Kyle called it. The week before Kyle kept hounding on the fact that people go crazy these days with cakes and that he misses old school chocolate cake and ice cream in paper bowls. Well, he got his wish and that is exactly what we had!
