APRIL 2019

APRIL: I coached Gus and Oliver in soccer. Every year I say I'm not going to do it again, but I still do. We bumped Oliver up to the 1st and 2nd grade team because I was coaching. He was so much smaller than the other kids I felt kinda bad, but he had a great attitude about it. We were undefeated which made it even better. Gus is such a good natural soccer player, he made almost all of the goals every game. I get pretty competitive so sometimes I embarrass myself, but Kyle always tells me the other people are way worse. I had Nicholas help me throw a rope over one of the tall pecan limbs, I tried for hours one day. I had put a soccer ball in a plastic bag then tied the bag to the rope I wanted over the limb then I proceeded to try to kick it over. It wasn't working so he came and tried, he even got on the house. The kids participated in the school fun run. Oliver got the most laps, and Gus got the most pledges so they were both happy. Oliver's friend Calahan came over one day and Kyle told him about a day a few weeks ago where he gave each of the kids $5 if they ate a worm. Well he really wanted $5 so he ate a worm and Kyle had to pay up. It was really funny, and I don't know how his mom felt about it when I sent the picture, but now he is 5 bucks richer. The Wilson's came to visit for Easter! We always have a lot more fun when they are around. We took them sand sledding, and had the kids sleep over on the tramp one night, we even took them to get donuts (go figure). We love donuts at this household and Kyle thinks the Wilson's are donut deprived because they don't get weekly donuts. The kids made their eggs, Gus did an octopus, Jack did a helicopter, Oliver did BB8, and Walter did a Mushroom. I did a bunch of cool rocks in a line I got in Cambria with a egg mixed in the middle. Gus did a science fair project on what ice keeps your drink the coldest. The ice with the hole through it does because of the surface area, but he won so he got to go to regionals at DSU. Gus and Oliver played baseball, we bumped Oliver up for that as well because Kyle and Deloy coached them. They both love baseball. I decorated Mrs. Reids door for teacher appreciation. I cut glasses out of wood and then glued tin foil on it for the lens part. We took the kids to fiesta fun to hit balls at the batting cages. Walter was pretty cute because he just picked up a bat and walked in the cage like he owned it. He does that at the games too. Just walks out on the field like he is one of the kids ready to play. We went mountain biking a few times as a family which is always good fun. Bris came over one day when I made fajitas, that girl chowed down. It was hilarious to watch.
