a camping we will go

We decided to brave the elements and take our little family camping (in a tent) on Kolob. Everything was fine and dandy until bedtime... When we first got there we set up camp, made blt's but we forgot the tomatoes so really it was just a bacon sandwich. Delicious right?! We took Gus fishing, they even caught a cute little baby fish on their first cast. We purchased new sleeping bags that are -35 and a tent heater because the low was going to be 30 without the windchill. The sleeping bags were almost too good, I was sweaty all night but couldn't move because Oliver slept in my arms on one side and Gus had flipped himself sideways between Kyle and I and I had his feet in me the entire night. Gus woke up screaming a couple of times, which was sooo fun. We made lots of memories and learned what not to do for next time. Until the next camping trip...

I Left My Heart In San Francisco

I was lucky enough to go to San Fransisco with my good friend Mindee to visit my other good friend Onjali. We had such a fun weekend with Oni. We hit the Palace Of Fine Arts, tried to find the Full House, went to Baker Beach, saw a nudist on Baker Beach. We later found out the North side of Baker is a nudist beach lol, went to the ferry building and hit the farmers market there as well as Cowgirl Creamery for steamed raspberry milk, we hit Miette to taste one or seven of their macaroons, we went to Boudins for lunch, Alcatraz which was amazing, rode the trolley through the streets of San Fran, walked up and down the pier, went to Union Square, and ate at Buckhorn, Lettuce, Whole Foods, Boudins, and Ghiradelli square to name a few. We were able to spend some time with Lacey Barberis who also lives there. She took us to Treasure Island, Lombard street, the Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, and to Sausalito to eat the best fish tacos at Fish. Our last day we ate at La Boulange for breakfast (so good) I bought Kyle some macaroons to try, we walked around Lafyette Reservoir, and then we had to say our last goodbyes to our dear host and friend Onjali. It was so nice spending time with Oni and Mindee, it was extra nice having 4 extra hands to help with Oliver too. He was a champ the entire trip, we were constantly on the go. I can say I breast fed at every tourist stop in San Fran, those lucky souls who got to witness it... Onjali lives in the cutest town outside of San Fran called Orinda. She called us the day before we left telling us that her daughter had lice and she had been cleaning and disinfecting everything. Nothing was going to deter us from going though so I said lice or not I am coming. Luckily, we didn't get it but so stressful for her!
