17 Months

Isn't he so smart, he is already writing his name, in block letters nonetheless!! We always knew we would have a genius child I mean look at both of our ACT scores;)

Gus is 17 months.
His usual words are truck, car, stuck, es (friends), ball, chs (chickens), hot, no, yes, please, treats. He loves the great outdoors you can tell by how blonde his hair is getting and his tan lines. He loves chasing the poor chickens around and around their coup. He is starting to play with his dump trucks in the dirt and riding them. He LOVES playing with friends, he will look out our front window and say es(friends). He is throwing more and more tantrums everyday. He has learned how to pull my hair and hit me which is my least favorite thing (how they learn this I don't know). His most favorite thing is to play in Kyle's truck or my car, he literally spends a good hour turning every knob and eating all of the gum he can find. He goes to bed around 9 and wakes up at 9. He takes one nap a day at 2 and it lasts 2 hours. He has almost all of his teeth for his age, his bottom k9's are popping through as I type this. The k9's are the worst I have decided. He fights going to bed, but once I lay him down he cries for 1 minute then is quiet. He helps me garden, put the laundry in the washer and dryer, pick up his toys, and put the chickens away. He loves shoes and sunglasses. His favorite food is edamame and oatmeal with cinnamon sugar. I have always thought I would love the newborn stage the most, but as he gets older the more fun I find myself having. He makes me laugh everyday, by the things he says or does. Church is very difficult right now. I attribute it to the 1pm start time, lets just say he is a handful!! 2 more weeks until nursery!!!!! He is all boy and goes goes goes.

BBQ Love

Had our first bbq of the season with the Funderburks this past weekend. We ate yummy hamburgers, bruschetta, fruit and fruit dip, chips, and to top it off strawberry shortcake! Gus and Macy had fun chasing the chickens, jumping on the tramp, and playing in the dirt. I tried to show them the stars on the tramp, and Nicole was showing Macy her sweet tramp tricks. Gus and Macy ended the night in the tub together! Yikes! I had to draw Macy a little bathing suit on, she was a little exposed.

Backyard Love

Our backyard as of late. Well, the spots we are still working on. We want to move the chicken coup away from the tramp and the high flying balls coming at the coup. We are thinking over by the grow box somewhere. We also want to put a sandbox where the chickens are currently. The last honey do is put grass in the big open dirt area in the above picture. So here are my questions. Would you build a sandbox like the grow box or put it flush with the sidewalk? Where exactly would you put the chickens?

Box Z

Went to the Ballard's ranch for the annual branding event on Saturday. I didn't get very many pictures because I had a little boy named Gus who ABSOLUTELY hated every minute of it this year. Kyle was more involved with the process this year because Cory wasn't there, and Gus thought the cows were hurting his daddy so he just screamed for him the entire time. Poor gramps didn't look very good out there, we went to see him on Sunday and he looked 100 times better. Brandy and the soon to be new babe were there, look at her cute belly. So other then the very hot weather and the screaming Gus man the event went well. Actually they did use a new chute which was very confusing for everyone there for the first little bit but after the first few I think everyone but Kyle liked it.

Splash Pad, SnoKaps, and a blanket

I met up with my friend Leesha and her sister Shawnee at the splash pad a couple of weeks ago. Gus wasn't so sure about it, but there were a ton of kids there and he just wanted to go down the slide.  Amy, Kinlee, Kason, Gus, and I went to SnoKaps a few weeks ago. We are going to make it a Tuesday night tradition because both of our husbands have scouts and we love that place. The last few pictures are of a blanked that I made Deloy Emmett. He is a big scouter in Southern Utah and has saved all of his handkerchiefs he has received over the years. the red one he wore forty years ago. It took me forever and a day to finish it, but he loves it. I had the main street quilt shop quilt it with fleur de lis all over it, and the back was forest green flour de lis fabric. I am GLAD I am done with it!!!!!!!!! Emphasis on the exclamation. It shouldn't of taken me as long as it did, but for some reason I got the top made and couldn't force myself to finish it. There are definitely a couple of mistakes, but Deloy said he won't look at those.

Cutest Thing Ever

We went to visit Gpa and Gma Ballard in Rockville for FHE a couple of weeks ago. Guess what Leon had next door, the cutest thing ever, a shetland foal. It was the same height as Gus and would run around the field like he owned it. Gpa and Gma loved sitting out back watching it run around and watching Gus play with it. Gpa was still his same old self, and Gma was putting up with him as always. lol. Gpa told us some fun stories as usual.

Easter Sunday Part 2

The evening of Easter Sunday we had our annual Easter egg hunt at my mom's. There was yummy food, lots of kiddos, and lots and lots of candy! We invited Rock and Leanne and their 2 girls over so it was fun visiting with them. Kyle hiked Angels Landing with Rock and Travis a few days before and while we were at dinner afterwards we invited them to my moms. Rock went in last week to start a bone marrow transplant so it was fun chatting with them before he had to start his treatments.

Easter Sunday Part 1

The Easter Bunny came to our house Sunday morning. He brought a watering pail and shovel, candy and a bubble maker that Gus quite isn't sure about!

Easter Car Show

Saturday we met up with the Funderburks at the Hurricane Easter Car Show. It was such a beautiful day, ideal for a car show. They entered their car into the show so we crashed their camp for a couple of hours. Their friend Jeremy took this awesome picture of their car.  I guess the story of the car is Andy was conceived in it, so we were teasing Andy that we snuck down in the middle of the night to conceive a child in it as well! lol. Gus and Macy have grown so much since the below picture which was taken in September. They still love on each other and are full of kisses when we meet up together. Andy is doing a soap box car race in Cedar City (like off of Little Rascals) so he brought a couple of the soap box cars down to advertise. That is what Gus is sitting in the above picture. I wish Gus was a little older so Kyle and he could build one together, it sounds like a ton of fun. It is going to be legit they are racing down the hill in Cedar by Cafe Rio!

Easter Egg Hunt Gma Linie Style

Gus went to his first Easter egg hunt at Grandma Linie's. He loved finding the eggs, and Kyle showed him how to open the eggs and find the candy, so after that all he wanted to do was eat candy. We still had 18 more eggs to find so needless to say it took forever to find all of the eggs. He was pretty darn cute holding his bucket. Kyle's mom had 26 kids over for the Easter egg hunt, so each kid had 22 eggs to find so she filled over 500 eggs! Yikes.
