Weeks 1-12

Weeks 1-12
The worst part of pregnancy started around 5 1/2 weeks this time. I was training to do the Top of Zion Relay with Lindsey Hurst. The last couple of runs I ran I could barely do 3 miles.  I was supposed to run a total of 19 miles spread between 3 legs, but had to call Lindsey with the bad/good news that I couldn't run the relay. It was such a relief not to have to stress over training/sickness.
I don't think I was as sick as I was with Gus. With Gus I threw up all day long with horrible heartburn. This pregnancy I have only thrown up in the evenings. I still felt nauseous throughout the day, especially when I didn't eat something every 2 hours on the dot. I carried around pecans, cucumbers, golden delicious apples, or cauliflower at all times. I still lost weight like last time, I am still losing, but hopefully with the nausea not being so bad that will stop. Or it can continue I wouldn't mind. lol I called the Dr. at week 6 1/2 and told them about my nausea they gave me a new prenatal called B-Nexa, it has ginger and Vitamin B6 in it. It has done wonders, I really think taking B-Nexa at night with Unisom combined with eating a small something every 2 hours has helped tremendously. Foods I despised this time around CHICKEN, I can't even think of the c word without feeling nauseous. Cafe Rio, cold sandwich meat, sweets, and eggs, are some of the other yucky foods on my list. There were lots more in the beginning, but I can't seem to recall what they were. I have gotten headaches this time around, but would rather the headaches then the throwing up. Overall this pregnancy has been much different than last time. I tell Kyle, this is my last pregnancy. I might change my mind in 5-10 years, but as for now I am done.
Week 12 has been tons better. I still feel nauseous in the evening, but I can handle this. I am slowly getting my energy back. I forgot how tired you get during the first trimester. On the days I didn't work Kyle would get home after work and I would still be in my pajamas without a bra on. Poor guy!
I have started to show faster this pregnancy, but figured that would be the case. Especially because I started out 5 pounds heavier than with Gus' pregnancy.
I still don't understand why they haven't figured out morning sickness. We are curing cancer, but can't figure out why morning sickness effects (affect? I can never remember the rule) some but not others. I know it is a good sign disguised as an ugly symptom but I could do without it that is for sure!

20 Months

On our walk he tried to pick up every pecan that had fallen, there were hundreds of nuts on the road. I finally had to scoop him up and distract his attention away from the nuts.

20 MONTHS
Weighing in at a hefty 22 pounds. 5th percentile
Length 32.5 inches. 30th percentile
Sleeps all night bedtime is 9 and wakes up at 8
Is taking one nap a day. Usually at 1 or 2 and lasting 1-2 hours
Words out of his mouth: mek(bike), nut, cop(helicopter), he calls me ma, gapa(grandpa), ater(means he wants to swim), bee(even if it is a fly), bug, popcy(popsicle), truck, gun, teddy, blankie, es(friends), Acy(stands for Macy, or Mason, or Gracie), vroom(motorcycle), deer, aining(raining), indy(windy), burr, kiny(kinlee), ash, ylan(dylan), kk(caitlyn), egg, ick(chickens), ink(drink), mown(mountain). These are just new words as of late he says a lot more like milk, cheese, etc.
Gus learned how to do a summersault this past month, I have no idea where but he does it!
He has been the best little boy this past month. Kyle and I were saying it is like a switch flipped. He loves being outside and playing with the neighbor hood on our front lawn. His favorite thing to do is check the icks to see if they laid eggs. Then he will hold the egg gently with both hands, lick it, and treasure it as long as I will let him. He loves waffles, edamame, noodles, bacon, milk, pecans, and peanuts.

All That She Wants

This is a little bit of a riddle, but you have to listen to the song(chorus) to get it. Lets just say Emily gets what she wants.....

Antigravity

We met my friend Mindee and her family at Antigravity this week. The first picture depicts what Gus and Marshall thought of Antigravity. Gus was scared out of his wits if Kyle left his side and Marshall couldn't have been happier! Then by the end of the night Gus was doing somersaults and getting sweaty. It was really hot inside was my only complaint. Gus had so much fun, I think Kyle had just as much fun as him.

Grand Canyon

We went on a little road trip to the Grand Canyon last weekend. Kyle and I love going in July because there is usually afternoon thunderstorms. We stopped at Jacob's Lake to eat and get a shake (they have the best shakes there). When we first got into the park the feisty buffalo were blocking the road and the crazy tourists were trying to get close and take pictures. I think they forget that they could be killed in an instant by one of those beasts. Once we were got to the Grand Canyon we did a short hike to a point to take some pictures, then we picked up Gus a souvenir. His first cowboy belt, complete with Gun and canteen. It was funny after we put it on we were walking past some asians and they thought he was pretty cute and they kept saying oh cowboy, cute bang bang. hahahha.

F*R*I*E*N*D*S

I went to Hairspray with some of my high school friends last week (picture to come). Then the next day Leesha and I went to Onjali's to get the kiddos together. It is really weird we have six kids between the three of us!

Independence Day

Our Independence Day went like this. Went to the parade 30 minutes late so we only saw the last 5 floats. Went swimming with WWF then  BBQ at my madres. Watched Back to the Future while Gus boy napped. We mowed the lawns, then went to STG to watch the fireworks. Everywhere else banned fireworks due to the dry conditions and fires. We watched the fireworks across from the temple, Gus loved them! Then we went home and snoozed.

A Camping We Will Go

Gus had his first real tent camping trip a couple of weekends ago. The first night was kinda rough, I think it was because he was cold. Poor kid. He was a champ for his nap, and the next night was much better. I put two of my blankets on him, and every couple of hours he would whine and I would cover him up again with 3 feet high of blankets. He loved being outside and seeing the cows come to the property, and the deer run through at dusk. It was nice not camping with fire to me, Kyle thought otherwise. I just don't like smelling like smoke for days. Kyle researched a new tent for months and finally bought a Kodiak tent. It was really nice not having cheap tent and being able to walk throughout the tent upright! The last night Gus needed a serious bath! We heated some water, and put it in the biggest tupperware bowl we brought. Good thing he doesn't way much or he wouldn't have fit. He is his fathers boy, loved fishing with Kason. He loves binoculars, I need to buy him some cheap ones at Walmart. This kid has been so happy lately, knock on wood. He is even eating better which makes my life so much better. My mom weighed him today, and since his 18 month check up 2 months ago he has gained 3 pounds!!!!

Sheep's Bridge

It has been so hot lately so we try to find water to swim in any chance we get. I haven't been to Sheep's Bridge in years. Gus thoroughly enjoyed himself, we will definitely go back. The river was really cool when you first got in, then felt quite nice.
