Christmas Eve 2012

Christmas Eve was very different from years past. We usually go to the Scholzen party in the afternoon, then at 6 we go to the Ballard party in Rockville, then after that we go to my mom's, and last but not least we head to Kyle's parents. This year there was no Scholzen party, then right before we left to go to Rockville we found out Kyle's grandpa had to go to the hospital because he had pneumonia. We also learned that all the sick kiddos were at Bruce and Linie's so we didn't go there either. We ended up just going to my Mom's for her dinner and her nativity. Gus hates to be overstimulated I have come to realize. There were a million kiddos running around at my mom's and he was a monster, but as soon as most of them left he was his happy little self again. So frustrating! After my mom's we drove around and looked at Christmas lights and tried to find Rudolph's nose. When we got home I did a little Q and A with Gus to write to Santa. He very much dislikes Santa and if you say the S word in front of him he gets very distraught and says Santa Nice?
I asked him if he wanted Santa to come to his house and he said "No Santa come"
I asked if he would like to leave cookies for Santa or carrots for the reindeer his reply "no cookies santa" "reindeer carrots"
I asked if he was a good boy or bad boy he said "bad boy"
then out of the blue he said "Elf mad"
I asked what he wanted for Christmas and he said "trains"

It was a funny little q&a we had, hopefully he warms up to Santa next year...

*S*N*O*W*

A Christmas miracle occurred a couple of nights ago. It snowed! Gus wanted to look at "Christmas trees" aka lights so we ventured out in the rain when all of a sudden it started snowing. Then it turned into big snowflakes and then the wind picked up and it was as if we lived in our own snow globe! It was beautiful!!!

Family Pictures 2012

We attempted to take our own family pictures last Saturday. It finally snowed here, well Zion got some so that is where our adventure took us. I love introducing new things to Gus and he thought the snow was pretty awesome! Cold, but awesome. I now know why we have someone take our family pictures, this was our third attempt after the awkward family photo.

Christmas Cards

We were trying to do the awkward family photo thing for our Christmas cards this year. As you can see they didn't really turn out as envisioned! Merry Christmas

Pregnancy Update Weeks 25-31

So it has been forever since I have wrote down anything about this pregnancy. We had another ultrasound last week at 30 weeks and found out my placenta previa is gone. The little placenta moved out of the way so no C-section! Hooray! I have gained 14 pounds so far, but feel a lot bigger than last time. I sleep horribly these days, I get short of breath then I start to panic because I can't get a good deep breath and this happens a lot at night. Dr Lunt says it is completely normal, but I say it is completely inconvenient. So the shortness of breath on top of the stress of the Santa Stampede 5k, and my new calling as the Mia Maid Advisor has me up for at least 2 hours in the wee hours of the morning. I have slept lots better now that the 5k is over. I remember getting anxious about dumb things towards the end of my pregnancy with Gus. If I wake up to go to the bathroom and start thinking about things I need to do my minds just escalates into an almost full fledged panic attack. I have a goal of trying to read the BOM before this baby arrives, so at 2 or 3 in the morning is when I get my best reading done. It helps me relax and stop thinking about all the little things I need to get done. This little boy seems so chubby in his ultrasound pictures last week. I wish we would have done an ultrasound this late with Gus so I could compare the two. I have been awful about taking my pre natal vitamins, only because they make me super nauseous to the point of throwing up so I decided they were useless if I was going to just throw it up anyway. Dr Lunt told me to just take an over the counter multi-vitamin, so since my last appointment I have been doing that.
I think the first belly picture is week 29 or something and the last one is week 31

Bobcat

Kyle is a regular old trapper these days. His Grandpa has a ranch, and that is where he caught his first bobcat. Kyle has been pumping Gus full of excitement about trapping a bobcat and coyote, but as you can tell from the first picture, talking about it and seeing it in person is a different story, he also had just woke up, so Kyle blames it on that. It is so cute when Kyle asks Gus what he trapped Gus will reply "bobcat" in the cutest little voice. Kyle started mainly to carry on the tradition of his Grandpa who was well known for trapping. So far he has only caught one bobcat and I think 4 coyotes. The coyotes are nice because they have a bounty on them.

Santa Stampede 5k

I am so glad this 5k is over!!!! I have been in charge of this 5k the last 6 years, and I THINK this is my last year. We raised $700 for Kony Coins for Kids and had 50 runners participate. It was my biggest turn out so far, which is weird because I only advertised on Facebook. Usually, I take forms to all of the local business' and do a lot more but alas I did not do that this year!
There was a special prize for everyone that beat Mr and Mrs Claus which was a fun new tradition we started. Kyle did so well, he took 4th overall, he ran his little heart out.
