Right Fork Waterfall

We practiced our waterfall jumping skills on Saturday. It was hot and the water felt amazing! Everyone started jumping off the fall on the lower part, but by the end we had six year olds jumping off the highest part. I even at seven months and two weeks jumped off the lower part:) Kyle said it doesn't look very high, but when you are up there it is. Isn't that what everyone says;) Daredevils I tell you

Kyle and I used to go to a ton of concerts, but as of late we have gone to zip. So when we found out their was a free Dave Mathews Band concert at the Usana amphitheater in Salt Lake we had to go. We new some people who were already driving up so we caught a ride with them;) We had lawn seating and a pretty entertaining group of people in front of us. I might have watched more of them then the actual concert! The guy behind us in the blue shirt and the guy on the right with the white shirt were some our entertainment:) They snuck in flasks of alcohol so that gives you an idea as to how entertaining they really were.

demo derby

I was fortunate enough to attend my very first demolition derby on Saturday. Why would I want to attend such a wt event you ask? Well SPC had a car entered in the event and the driver is one of Kyles friends so we needed to support. It was an interesting event to say the least, the atmosphere was very wt, but I did enjoy the derby more than I thought I would have. SPC did not win but I think it was the best looking car there. Rowdy (the driver) spent hours upon hours the last year getting it ready. We went to check on it the night before, and he was using a sharpie marker to touch up the paint job in some areas (a little OCD) but it looked nice. If I was smarter than my computer right now I would upload a video of the blessed event, but lo I am not so you get still photography:)

Cedar Breaks + Perseids= AMAZING

Steve and Brittany Kroff invited us to Cedar Breaks last week for the Perseids meteor shower. Many do not know this but Kyle has a love for the stars and the night sky, he even bought a nice telescope a few years back. So needless to say we jumped at the opportunity to watch Perseids with friends. Cedar Breaks had a couple of park rangers there with their very high powered telescopes, and gave us a tour of the stars before the meteor shower really began. Kyle and I were not expecting it to be so cold up there though. I had on leggings and sandals and Kyle wore shorts and flip flops. The other attendees dress consisted of beanies, long pants, jackets, and gloves. We were FREEZING, until Steve and Brittany brought blankets and the most delish hot chocolate. The meteor shower did not disappoint! It was both mine and Kyles first visit to Cedar Breaks it was very beautiful, next time we will visit during daylight.

projects

The above picture is of cupcake toppers I made over the weekend. Aren't they cute! I think I am going to save them for the baby blessing.
my mom gave us this changing table some renters had left behind so I painted it and I found the cute lime green baskets at target for $2.50.
this is the carseat canopy I made. I found the cutest fish fabric at lazy daisy cottage. You can't tell but the fabric on top has little fish in the brown part.
this is my fave quilt I have made so far. the reverse side is minky and this side has the cutest snails and mushrooms all over it.

I bought the owl quilt a year ago and I was going to make it for one of Kyle's sisters who had boys, but as you can see that didn't happen. So now the owl quilt belongs to Gus/Finn. more projects to come...

tHe FerRy cAlLed Lees

my first visit to the colorado river did not disappoint. this is emily i feel as though you might get confused seeing how the pics are all of kyle, matt harrison, father steve harrison and brother in law matt. kyle has never invited me to go along on fishing trips so i thought when he asked me i better not turn him down. i have never been to lees ferry, it is a really pretty river, bigger than i expected it to be. well just to update you on the amount of fish that were caught then released, since i know the anticipation of knowing is literally killing your very being, everyone caught a couple besided the bro in law matt. it was father harrisons and b-i-l matts first time fly fishing i thought they did well, but who am i to judge such a blessed sport? notice my pic of kyle and the fish i could of zumed in but you wouldn't be able to see those majestic cliffs in the background. now i realized i should have zumed i think it is what a prof. fish photographer would have done.
