Camera Pictures

Kyle went out of town over the weekend, he asked me to send him a picture of the boy. I had already laid him down to go to bed, but heard him talking so I went in and found him doing this. Every night I hear him standing then plopping down, then talking to himself, then laughing, then he will cry for a minute, then he is back to jabbering, standing, plopping, well you get the idea. It usually takes him 20 minutes to fall asleep at night. He wasn't to happy when I left after taking this picture. He thought I went in to rescue him. His new trick is throwing his beloved bear and blankie over the crib and then he will cry because he can't get them.

The above is a picture from my 16 mile run on Saturday with Bub and Megan Gifford. It is so beautiful every morning we run.

Picture of Sand Hollow on one of the 22 mile bike rides Kyle has taken me on. I don't know why the scenery seems so pretty to me these days. Every time we are out and about it gets prettier and prettier. Maybe my eye sight is going bad? haha

The above pic is our shadows while we were running the Sand Hollow hill. Kyle on his bike, and Gus being pushed by me in the stroller. That isn't Gus' huge head floating above the stroller, when we went to Robert's that day they gave him a balloon so I tied it to his stroller to keep him entertained.

Some random pictures from my camera phone. I would upload a lot more but it is taking forever!

Bum

Gus has the cutest butt for "such a dainty kid" as Aunt Larae called him. His new trick is standing in the tub without the help from me. It scares me to death I just know he is going to fall and hurt himself one of these days. He pulls himself up and just falls back like it is no big deal to slam his little bum on the tub floor.

Aunt Larae

Kyle's Great Aunt Larae came to visit Gus and me today. She is such a lovely lady, and is so inspiring. One of my most favorite people to talk to and visit. She was here for over an hour and it felt like only ten minutes. Gus loved her instantly, well once he fully woke up from his nap!

Slime

Slime! The one thing I wanted as a kid, but my mom would never buy for me. As Kyle said "my mom would never buy it for us because she said we would put it on the walls and make grease marks" So Gus' friends/cousins came over the other night to play which gave me the perfect opportunity to make one of my pins off of pinterest!

All you do is dissolve one teaspoon of borax in one cup of water, set that aside. Then pour 1 full bottle of Elmer's school glue into a bowl, and add a little water and food coloring. Once the borax is dissolved pour into the glue mixture and knead. It will start to clump up and that is when you take it out of the bowl and need on the counter until you have your desired consistency!

Teddy

I started noticing a couple of weeks ago that Gus always woke up with his blanket and bear by him. I have two stuffed animals in his crib an expensive rhino I bought at Anthropologie and this brown teddy bear I got from Meridee Gibson at my baby shower. I really wanted him to like the rhino, but he loves the teddy bear.
The blanket is another story. I made this boy soooo many cute blankets, blankets with silky on the opposite side, blankets with flannel, all types of blankets. Guess what blanket he LOVES the most, yep the cheap Walmart blanket. It already has a hole in it. I am slightly mad he doesn't like my rhino or my blankets. I keep thinking back to when I was pregnant. I just wanted the boy to come November 2nd or 3rd, but no HE decided to come the 12th. Same story with the rhino and Walmart blanket, he is the boss and will decide EVERYTHING! Silly boy:)
He reminds me so much of Michael from Peter Pan with his teddy bear. I usually only let him have his blanket and bear in his crib, but I brought them out to show Kyle and to record his reaction to it. So I left it out all evening, I would come and check on him and one minute he would be by his toys with the bear, then the next minute he was on the opposite side of the room with his bear. Everywhere he went the bear went also.

Jets Jets Jets

Kyle bought Gus his first Jets jersey. It was like Christmas when he got the mail and the jersey was in it. Kyle is so proud! Kyle has a Jets jersey he wears on Sunday game days, so now Gus can be just like his daddy.

Projects

Kyle and I have a little bit of a problem, we get really attached to t shirts. So we started making a pile of shirts to make into a quilt. The pile grew and grew and grew and by the time I got to it we had enough t shirts for a king sized quilt. Some of the shirts are from our trip to Europe in 2005 so they are pretty old!

I made the below quilt in February, and just finished it last month. The plan was to hand quilt it, but after just 20 minutes and only two inches of quilting done I decided I would just pay for it to get quilted. My neighbor has a fancy quilting machine so I took it to her. I love how it turned out!
My photo collage wall was the brain child of our fabulous friends the Funderburks. It is still a work in progress but I am loving how it is coming together. I made the B with yarn and a wood B. I think I am going to make a smaller pendant banner, well not smaller just smaller pendants with more patterns and texture to them.

derby 2011

Untitled from Emily Wright on Vimeo.

Saturday my mom had one last party before school started for the kiddos. She got the giant slide again and the kids had tons of fun. They went down it at least 100 times the hour we were there. After the party we went to the Washington County Fair for the 2011 derby to watch Rowdy and his SP car. He got stuck during the first round, then made it into the grudge match and won that, then went to the finale. He had some good hits during the finale but Gus was too wiggly to record it. Gus wasn't so sure about it, I think it was a little too loud for him. The above video is Rowdy in the SP car during the grudge match. He won $200.00 for that one hit.

scope eye

Kyle had a little mishap last week. He went on his nightly 22 mile bike ride, and when he was riding past M&I Greenhouses he saw two innocent little coyotes. Well, after his bike ride (an hour later) he made me and Gus go out with him to see if they were still there. Unfortunately they were still there so he gets out of the truck, grabs his gun, and crosses the road. I was mad (I hate guns and thought what he was doing was lame) so I didn't watch the rest. I hear the shot, look over as he turned to me and his face was covered in blood. I get out to go see if he is
okay and just then 3 or 4 cars pass by (I wonder what they thought). Kyle gets into the truck and I am yelling at him to put pressure on it still not knowing what happened. I honestly thought he got shot somehow. I make him let me drive home and this is the story he tells me. He was so excited because the dumb coyotes were out in plain sight during the day, so he rests his gun on the barbed wire fence. He couldn't see through his scope very well but still shoots. The gun came back (recoiled) and smacked him right between the eyes. Gun people call this scope eye. I was so mad at him, I told him Gus was never going shooting or hunting with him EVER. So now everyday he comes home with a new story of someone he knows that got scope eye trying to convince me that scope eye is sooo unbelievable common. I still hate guns even after all of his stories.
The next day Kyle went to see if the coyotes were still there, and guess what they were. So he changed guns and shot one of them, and found out he also hit the one that gave him scope eye the night before.

Circleville

My father had his big number 60 birthday on the sixth so we made the trek to the small town of Circleville. The girls drove to Marysville during the bash to see the cutest little house that Amy's co-worker remodeled.

Macy comes to town

Little miss Macy came to town for a lunch date. We didn't make it to her birthday party, so we were unable to give her present to her. The apron fit perfectly, and the rolling pin and cookie cutter will hopefully get used in the next few years! We went to lunch at Main street Cafe and it was as good as I remember. Macy and Gus of course had to give kisses again. too cute

Exploring

Family Night

we have been doing a lot of what is pictured in the above picture. Kyle bikes basically everyday, and since I paid MONEY to run the stg marathon again I started training for that. One of Kyle's riding buddies told him to do hill work to get faster, and so we make a family night out of it. Kyle rides to the Sand Hollow hill and I ride (in my car) with Gus and the stroller to the top of it. Then while he bikes it 3-4 times I run it 1-2 times. It is a killer I haven't been able to run the whole thing without walking a couple of times, but one day I will. Pushing the stroller up it is a nightmare as well. I have taken numerous pictures with my phone, because the time of day that we go is epic. I love that we can make it a family night, and Gus loves being outside so it is a win win sit. The things we will do to ourselves.

Awesome

The day before we flew to Sac town, Kyle went to warped tour with his buddy. He went specifically because Unwritten Law was going to be there, and his dream happened. He got to take a picture with Scott Russo (sigh) the lead singer of Unwritten Law. He sent me the pic and titled the email Awesome, hence the post title. He kept sending it to a wrong email, so some girl with the email emilyalthea@hotmail has got this picture at least four times. ha
