MARCH:
For spring break we took the kiddos to Carlsbad. Its our second favorite place with a beach (Cambria being our first). My sisters Amy & Ashlee decided to get a house together and come as well. We had lots of fun playing at the beach everyday and taking them to places like The Taco Stand & Handels ice cream. It was really good weather the entire time we were there. We beached it 90% of the day. Our happy place. We also met up with a couple of Kyle's customers in Las Vegas and went to Monster Jam. The kids loved every minute of it. I thought there was more down time than needed to be. Walter even loved it. Jack probably loved it the most though. We took his customers to eat at Skinny Fats, one of Kyle's favorite places in Vegas. After we had booked a room in LV, but decided to not risk getting bed bugs at a hotel and just head home. So we arrived home late Saturday night. We took care of Deloy and Penny Emett's dog for a week or so while they went to Europe. Walter loves Addi (the dog). We take her on walks, feed her, she is the best dog ever. My kids have hiked to 3 Falls with grandma Linie a few times this month. Its the perfect time to hike it, not muddy and not blasted hot. My sister Ash meets up with Amy Gubler, Jennifer Jensen, Angie Reeve and some other elite quilters once a month. They are all working on hand sewing hexi quilts. Ashlee is working on one for Nicholas and Emilee's baby due in August. They are the cutest quilts, and the most time intensive quilts ever. Ashlee finished hers (in July) she has 190 hours in a small baby quilt. Its really really crazy but beautiful. Gus got stuck in a bucket one Sunday, it was pretty hilarious. To keep the kids busy I got out the nails, wood and a hammer. They loved creating and it kept them busy for a long while. The problem is we found nails for the next months. Actually I am still finding nails and its August. We got the yard ready to pour concrete. We took out some grass and built up the cement around the window wells. It was a lot of prep work, but we were able to knock it out. One of Kyle's customers poured it for us. We attended Gus' first blue and gold. We bought Deloy's arrow cake. I didn't realize I needed to make a cake. I will do better next year.
