Hau'oli lā hānau thats Happy Birthday

My sweet little hubby had his birthday yesterday. Unfortunately we spent the day in airports and on airplanes. I just love this guy to pieces and am so glad he was born twenty six years ago.

H*A*W*A*I*I day 11

Hawaii Day 11. We had to fly out at eleven, but we couldn't leave this beautiful isle without a stop at our favorite place to eat. They have the yummiest banana pancakes!! We met a couple on our honeymoon who told us this cafe is a must stop. I have tried recreating these pancakes, but they don't come close to tip top's.

H*A*W*A*I*I day 10

Hawaii day 10 started off with a short hike to Queens Bath. It is on the golf course we are staying at. It took about 10-15 minutes to get to, super easy. It was very pretty the warning
signs everywhere made me a little uneasy. We didn't get swept to sea though:)
this is Kyle Gus and Rob. Rob was Kyle's fly fishing guide for a few hours. They were fishing for bone fish. They got skunked though. It was Kyle's birthday present. He said he is glad he did it now he knows what to do for next time we come:)

After Bub and I dropped Kyle off with the guide, we met the rest of the fam at Hanalei beach for some paddle boarding. I wish we would have rented the board all week. It was super easy and lots of fun. These are the various pics of people trying it:)
Gus has the best Grandma's ever.

for our final dinner on the island we went to Bubba's again. This time we had a corn dog and a chocolate shake. Kyle and I are doing biggest loser with his work. I think we are going to win;)

H*A*W*A*I*I day 9

I forgot the best part of the day, we went to Hamura Saimin to eat. A girl at Barnes and Noble on our honeymoon last year told us about the place. Saimin is a japanese noodle, it is a lot like ramen. It is this hole in the wall, but it is seriously the best. We took Bruce with us after we dropped Rash off at the airport. We all had some lillokoi pie to top it off for dessert. mmmmm

this is the beach at the start of the Kalalau trail. Someone owns a house right on it. I want to become friends with that person
so many warning signs at the beginning of the hike

Hawaii day 9. Today we started off with a hike. We did 1/2 mile of the famous kalalau trail. It was one of the prettiest hikes I have ever done!!

taro fields

Hawaii day 8. We drove to the end of the road in North Kauai and got some awesome fish tacos. Kyle said they were in sunset magazine the place was called Red Hot Mommas. They were easy the best fish tacos I have had. We went to Hanalei beach again and played. It was lots warmer today so Gus didn't mind the waves splashing his legs. All over the island people have surf boards with Andy Irons name on them. Kyle informed me that he was a surfer from Hawaii that died.

H*A*W*A*I*I day 7

below is baby moses. this is how he looks at the beach most of the time. the little guys pasty white skin is getting a tan though.

along the road to the pools is a wildlife preserve, I think this little guy comes from there
at pools of mokolea, but quarry rock beach is behind me
pools of mokolea
this is where Gus sleeps. In a drawer from the dresser:)
these little cockadoodledoos are everywhere on Kauai

Today we started the day off with a short hike. Kyle and I escaped and went to the pools of Mokolea. The surf was high so we weren't able to actually see the pools, but we found a cool beach and a great view. We also saw some nudists made the 3/4 mile hike worth every step. Actually I never saw them, Kyle did. After the pools we went to Anihini beach. This is where Kyle will be fly fishing so he scouted it out and snorkeled a bit. We went back to the lovely abode picked up the other kiddos then went back to Anihini beach. We saw an octopus it was awesome. I even touched it. I got inked on a bit, but it was worth it.
