I met my a couple of my good friends from high school at Cafe Rio last week. This picture is of Gus and Marshall (Mindee's cute little boy). So it was Leesha, Mindee and me just like the good ol days. We missed the rest of you. Gus and Marshall are two peas in a pod, that is if two peas are wild and crazy as ever. Poor Leesha was sans kids but she still had to endure wild Gus. When I think of Mindee and Leesha I always think of the times we would go to Mindee's house on Friday (early out) and Mindee would play the piano while we sang Jewel's What if God was one of us... I am not a singer so why I was singing I have no idea. I was going through some old suitcases of mine at my moms and I found a ton of notes from middle school. That was the big thing then, like texting is now. Some of them were folded really fancy, I didn't read any but I can just imagine the drama that fills the old suitcase!
Not a Young Pup Anymore
My sweet hubby turns 27 today! He says he isn't a young pup anymore, not with our dinner dates at 5:00 senior citizen time, or our 10:00 bed time that is for sure! I sure do love this old pup.
Blog Book
I finally got our blog years 2009-2010 printed into a book. I love it, I definitely learned a few tricks doing my first one. I also learned I need to write more on each of my posts. Now onto 2011. fyi I used blurb to do it
to the park
These girls watched Gus while Kyle and I went to the movie. It was amazing to go to the movies. That was one of our favorite past times that we miss so so much! So after the movie I felt bad because it was their day off from school (Presidents Day). I decided to take them to a newly discovered park. Gus loves going to the park especially with his two favorite people.
Moisture Finally
It finally rained in sunny Stg. we decided ZNP would not disappoint with the rain so we drove our little selves to Temple of Sinawava. I wish pictures could capture the magnitude of the mountains. ZNP is so so pretty this time of year especially when it rains. Kyle and I were amazed at the amount of moss covering most of the rocks, it was very green everywhere. Gus has not yet met the snow and he was a little hesitant at first, actually I don't think even at the end of our trip that he touched the stuff. Gus kept pointing to the tall mountains and talking a lot of gibberish he thought they were pretty epic as well!
I MUSTACHE you a question.
It took a few tries but we finally captured the perfect picture!
I MUSTACHE YOU A QUESTION.
WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE?
Super Bowl 2012
Any guesses as to what the above picture is?
Super Bowl 2012
I didn't take very many pictures this year which is a little depressing. I go through picture withdrawals when I am to lazy to pull out my camera. Every year I am glad the super bowl is on a fast Sunday because I really make up for the calories during the game. We had lots of yummy food and my moms house was bombarded by little ones. Kyle and Gus wore matching Jets jerseys because that is how they roll. This year was Broncos vs Patriots? I think, I was making Gus' valentines during the game so really I have no clue who was playing. I do know Tom Brady didn't win... I think. I DO know Madonna was the half time show, I kept wishing she would have not worn those darn boots. She would have danced a whole lot better, and I wouldn't have worried the entire performance that she was going to fall..Well, I guess I don't really know anything about the super bowl except we had lots of yummy food and we had a great time chit chatting
Chicks have arrived
Gus seeing them for the first time, he didn't quite understand at first...
Chicks have arrived and Gus loves them. He is "pretty" good at being soft with them. Loves giving them kisses. They were the loudest three chicks I have ever heard on Saturday when we got them but they have quieted down a lot since then. We got one silkie bantam (the white one) and I don't remember the kind of the other two. Silkie doesn't have a name yet but Kyle named the other ones Over and Easy. lol. They are making me somewhat vegetarian right now. I get very queasy while eating, I start thinking about them and then it is all down hill from there. I could only eat one blueberry muffing the morning we got them, then for lunch we decided to have chicken sandwiches (the canned kind from costco), that didn't go over too well. I have always had a issue with eggs, I seldom eat eggs alone by themselves so these cute little chicks are just adding to my problem. Silkie will look like the white chicken below. They are supposed to be more like a cat then chicken very tame, and likable. They have black meat which is disturbing to think about but they are the cutest chickens ever!
15 months
Favorite foods at 15 months: popcorn, edamame, pecans, peanuts, nutella, creamy noodles, pretzels, dried peaches and apples, fresh apples, strawberries, raspberries, cereal. I am STILL weaning him he is down to 3 feedings one in the morning, one before his nap, and one before bed. I wish I would have weaned him at 10 months when he didn't really understand. Next time! He is drinking more and more whole milk everyday, he prefers water though even over apple juice. Won't eat string cheese anymore which I don't understand.
Words: Ball (at least a thousand times a day), Uh oh, Boo, Stewie, Mama (Grandma), Mom, Dad, up, please, muwah (kiss), socks, shoes...
Sleep: Bedtime is at 9. Wakes up for the day anywhere from 8-9. Has been waking up once at night or I should say morning because it is usually at 5:30 or 6 am. Takes one nap a day around 1 pm for 2 hours.
Church: We go to one o'clock church right now which is really hard. We took him to nursery a couple of weeks ago and he really enjoyed it, yesterday he was a ultimate terror so Kyle just took him home the rest of church. My mom taught him how to shoot baskets into the hoop outside and we sit in the back of church where the hoop is so the entire sacrament meeting he is saying ball in a whiny voice and pointing to the basketball hoop. If you take him into the hall there is no chance of bringing him back into sacrament. He is very difficult right now during church I just hope he grows out of it. I bring everything I can think of to keep him distracted but nothing helps.. Oh the joys!
Interests: Above is Gus' newest interest. Don't tell Kyle bwuahahaha. He will take out every condiment and line them up, then put them back. Kyle got mad the other day that he did it, I was secretly laughing because I will let him do it when he is really bored:) Loves being outside we have had really good weather so we have spent a lot of time outdoors. It makes it hard on days like today where it is rainy. We got him a miniature basketball hoop at DI and he loves throwing balls into it. Loves watching national geographic or any other program with live animals. He won't watch any children movies except Elmo, and signing time. Loves to dance he recently started trying to dance with his feet it is pretty hilarious to watch. Likes to help me unload the silverware in the dishwasher. He will put the bounce sheet into the dryer when I am doing laundry. He puts my socks into my sock drawer. Likes to pick up his toys while signing the clean up song. Tries to put on mine or Kyles shoes, he really likes shoes. Loves the new baby chicks we got. Loves bath time, and helping me throw things into the trash.

The B-I-G 28
I turned the BIG 28 on the 27th of January. I feel super old and super BIG! I don't necessarily like birthday cake so my mom ordered me a pizza in the shape of 28 instead. Aint she sweet! The day was all planned out then when we woke up wouldn't you know that it was windy in Hurricane AGAIN! I am so sick of the dang wind here, I want to move... So we ate breakfast at Main Street Cafe then we drove to Stg to go running. We did this because Stg is blessed with no wind EVER! Then we went home had a chilaxin day later in the evening we went to pizza factory express with the fam then off to the Hurricane/Dixie high basketball game at Dixie. Gus loves to watch basketball, especially if the gym is packed and the crowds are cheering loud! That was the end of my golden year and the start of my downward slope to 30! At least I am not turning dirty 30 like my OLD brother Dusty who did on Monday...
28 Birthday Presents
2 insulated water bottles
road bike
ballet work out dvd (I have always wanted to be a ballerina so Kyle bought me this)
A crystal to hang in my kitchen window to make rainbows just like my Grandma Cannon had in her sun room.
Tanning Pass (I recently went to the dermatologist and he scared me to death so I will prob just do the leg tanner every once in a while)! Tupperware the cutest shade of purple and some money!
And the cutest cake stand, cupcake liners, and zebra stripped scissors!
Ghetto Good Time
This is how you have a ghetto good time on Sunday evenings. Super simple, put your cute little self inside of a big trash bag. Seal up the top as best you can, then insert a vacuum hose and turn on the vacuum. Let the suction begin. We were laughing pretty hard at this, Caitlyn looks like a little bat with wings!
Nutellaville
This little boys latest food obsessions are Nutella (as evidenced by his messy face) and edamame! He is getting less and less picky, but some days he won't eat anything. So frustrating!!!!! At least he will shovel handfuls of edamame's in his mouth. My sister has family talk flashcards and we picked one the other day that asked if you named your city after your favorite food what would it be called. Mine would be called Nutellaville as of late.
Pickle Ball
We got a set of pickle ball paddles from Kyle's parents for Christmas, and Hurricane has some nice new courts so we tried our hand at the sport. I mostly took pictures and Gus mostly just ran around saying ball on the empty courts, but Kyle pickle balled it up with Travis. It is a fun sport for people of all ages.
Chickadee
Kyle talked me into getting chickens... Yikes... So the little chicks need a place to stay so he built this chicken coup. We get the chicks on Thursday, wish me luck.
Art of Manliness
Shave Like Your Great Grandpa: The Ultimate Straight Razor Shaving Guide
For Valentines day I got Kyle a a razor set up because he read this article on the art of manliness website: http://artofmanliness.com/2009/10/06/how-to-straight-razor-shave/
He has mastered the skill I must say. He is able to shave more then once a week now, and his face is incredibly smooth after he shaves. Before, he would only shave once a week because he would get crazy razor burn after each shave. Now he shaves like a man with a safety razor and he hasn't got razor burn since the switch!
