The above picture is bad, but I had to capture the moment. We were waiting in line for Bugs life and Kyle and I were just chatting along. A few minutes later I looked up at Gus and he had taken his shirt off. I couldn't believe it, he has tried to disrobe before, but the shirt is the piece of clothing he can never get off!
We got to Anaheim early evening Friday, Summer and Adam were gracious enough to give us their tickets to explore California Adventure so that Saturday we could devote to Disneyland. Gus was pretty darn good during our 6 hour drive, and I think he got sick of us saying you have to be good so we can go see where Mickey lives. To say that California Adventure was a madhouse is an understatement. I really wanted to do the trick or treating at Disneyland Friday night, but the tickets were all sold out. We got there just as Disneyland was closing for regular ticket holders so everyone fled Disneyland and went to California Adventure. It was crazy crazy, especially cars land. We waited in line at Luigi's then after 30 minutes and realizing the line was very deceiving to us and still had to wrap around the entire place we bagged that idea. We were able to do a couple of things at Bugs Land and explore the Beast's castle. That is were the cool chandelier picture is from. The Mad Hatter place was a party, Gus had fun dancing with Kyle. We explored around some more then decided it was late for the little guy so we left just as the fireworks show started.Weeks 20-24
This is my week 24 belly... I think. I can't remember exactly when this was, but it was close to 24. I forgot to mention that at my 16 week ultrasound to find out the gender I also found out I have placenta previa. Suck! Well, we just hoped and prayed that by 20 weeks the placenta would start migrating its little self out of the way. At my 20 week ultrasound there was little movement of the placenta if any. So now we are just hoping and praying that by my 30 week ultrasound the placenta will have migrated north and get out of the way so I don't have to have a c-section. So no heavy lifting, pushing, pulling etc. I have been feeling great, I just love the second trimester I would have 10 kids if my pregnancy felt like this the entire time. This little dude is a mover and a shaker though, especially at night. Which has me dreading those sleepless nights when he is born! I gained 6 pounds in 4 weeks at my 22 week appointment, anyone jealous? Didn't think so, I almost asked the ma to double check the number. I guess this sudden weight gain goes to show that I have been feeling better. I blame the weight gain on Swigs sugar cookies. Those things are devilish! I think I am the only one that doesn't think dirty Dr. Pepper is delish though. I have been working a ton because of flu season and flu shots so my exercise routing has dwindled to basically nothing, but I vow to start again once we are back from vacation.
Conference Sunday
Conference Sunday we spent the second session listening on Kolob. The leaves were so pretty that weekend. We ate, listened, played, and were spiritually fed. Amy made us take some photo ops I was not into it, but now I am glad we did it. They captured some fun memories!
Conference Saturday
Conference Saturday we set out to the ranch to find pine nuts. We borrowed Bruce's four wheeler and explored for some of those pricey nuts. We found lots of pinyon pines, but all of the pine nuts on them were hallow. We are thinking it is too dry out there for them. Dirk and Thad ended up being out there, and they found some cattle in the sands that were missed a couple of weeks ago and needed to be brand. Luckily Kyle was wearing his cowboy get up so he was able to help them out. I think Grandpa had 4 steer that were missed. I heard lots of interesting stories that day. Stories about a girl who castrated a cow with her teeth (it was one of Dirk's daughters friends from college). I think I threw up in my mouth when I heard that, she said that is how they do it where she is from. Yuck! We had a little picnic in water canyon then Gus kept saying home, which means he was tired so we loaded up and left. It was a lovely Saturday full of making memories.
Argh
Maddox turned 5 years old last week and he invited his friend/cousin Gus to his pirate birthday party. There were tons of kiddos there, Gus was probably the youngest but he didn't mind. He was in his own little world playing on the kiddie slide and eating ice instead of cupcakes. silly boy
Branding Box Z
We went to the Ballard Ranch a couple weeks ago to go branding. This year we waited a LONG time! I guess some of the cows were in the sands? I don't know exactly what that means, but I do know it took the cowboys forever to bring them in. Grandpa was a little pissed while we waited, and he wasn't feeling very good so he left early and let his offspring take care of it. Gus loves to watch the cows and hsys(horseys) and the kids found caterpillars to pass the time.
Weeks 15-20
Weeks 15-20
It is amazing how slow time goes by when you are feeling sick, but now that I am feeling really good time is flying by. So since week 14 I have been feeling better and better. I don't have any nausea, thankfully, and my energy is back. I sleep really good, so I have stopped taking Unisom at night. I switched prenatals from b-nexa to the regular o-cal, I can only take half of it with tons of water. I learned that lesson the hard way. Week 20, this week, I finally look pregnant and not fat. This pregnancy I feel like I am getting wider. With Gus I carried mostly in my belly so to see my butt is traumatic. I have started spinning (we have a trainer I attach to my road bike inside) so hopefully that helps my situation. I did 30 minutes on it yesterday and was dripping sweat after, it felt so nice to get my heart rate up. I still don't like chicken or eggs which is really inconvenient. At my 14 week appointment I finally gained a little, so I was one pound below my pre-pregnancy weight. No cravings, well maybe cheese as a snack.
