SEPTEMBER 2019
Jack started pre school at La Verkin Elementary. He was a bit nervous, but walked in like a boss. The next day I took him he didn't even look back. It kinda is heartbreaking to watch these littles get so big so fast. I took Jack and Walter in for well child checks. They are both growing like weeds. They each had to get shots, which is sad to watch every time. We went to a cross country meet to watch three young women in my ward and Madi run. 2 of my young women are ranked 1st and 30th in state. They are amazingly fast, and it was a lot of fun to go watch. The Elders Quorum (Kyle, President Lundeen, and Steve Shosted) hosted a corn and scone Ward party. We had a really good turn out, the best part was the homemade rootbeer imo. Although the corn was picked in Enterprise that morning and was especially delicious. I took a pic of Oliver sleeping in our bed. Little bug sneaks up a lot and climbs in bed with us. I think its because he kicks off his sheets and is freezing everynight, so when I wake up in the middle of the night I go downstairs and cover him up which has been helping. I wake up in the middle of the night often. Thinking about all the worries in life, then I can't go back to bed for an hour or two. Gus' teacher (Mrs. Henrie and Li Laosher) sends the class pictures every once in a while which I love getting. Jack's pre K teacher Mrs. Lebaron & Mrs. Clyde do weekly newsletters with pics too. Its great. I ran the Hurricane Half Marathon this year. It's a different course than I have ran in the past. Annnnd it is super difficult the first 3 miles. They have you run the back 9 holes of the Sand Hollow golf course which has hills upon hills and steep ones to boot. I finished in 2:13 or something which was my goal, and it was hard the last 4 miles were brutal. I stayed with Lindsey the first 4 miles, and then she needed to walk so we lost each other. I ran with Marcia Cahoon the rest of it, until she took off the last 2 miles. Our friends Nikki Richins (Warrins Wife) and Jessica Wardle ran too. I just didn't want them to smoke us too badly which they didn't They finished in 2:06 I think. Gus got the rhino virus this month poor kid was sick for over a week. high fevers every day, sore throat, ear ache. He missed a whole week of school, and just laid on the couch every day. I made a new schedule for running so we can do 13 miles the day before Thanksgiving. We have kept on schedule so far. I was reading in the scriptures one night, and the scripture with I AM MORE in it really caught me. I want to make shirts for our Young Women with I AM MORE on it. I just want them and me to know that with Christ miracles can happen and you are more. For young women one evening we went to the Quail Lake scout camp and Deloy taught the girls and boys to shoot aerial archery. It was a lot of fun and very addicting. Only a few of the leaders could hit the targets, but it was a lot of fun trying. The pic of my toe, I tore out the garden and all of Alan's boxes and on some of them there are nails poking out. I threw a board on the ground and it bounced up and went through my croc and straight through my nail. Little bugger hurt for a bit. The kids loved playing in the mud in the garden spot. Little boys love themselves some mud and dirt thats for sure. After church every week Kyle has chips and salsa. Walter has learned to love it too. It was so cute when he plopped himself by Kyle and started chowing down. Walter loves loves loves gloves, there are a couple of pics of him wearing some. He sleeps with one on at night, I try to get him to wear one of Jack's biking gloves that fit him. Most of the time he wears one of Kyles yardworking gloves or a plastic glove. Its just one hand he wears it on too. I think he thinks he is working if he wears it. He is a good little worker. While we are talking about Walter, that kid loves to climb on the bathroom counter as well. He can barely say teeth so he thinks he is ok up there brushing his teeth. He usually finds hair product and squirts the mirror thinking he is a big helper cleaning. Jack is an amazingly daring little bike rider. He is adventurous and brave and wild. We took the kids to the Homecoming football game for a bit. They had a blast, Gus' friends kept trying to get him to play, but he gets nervous and he just stood by us the whole time. We waxed the scout, it looks so much better now. Kyle saw some big horn sheep in the gorge coming home from work one day and snapped a pic. I got to hold Lilee joy for a bit one night. I found a bunch of old pics that I sent to friends, I'm trying to find our wedding pics to print off one of the Kona temple. No luck yet. Walter is such a laughy kid lately, Kyle was just saying that last night on our way home from hunting. The muzzle loader hunt started we went to Smiths Mesa one night and leisurely hunted, then to the sands last night. We love the sands. It is so much fun exploring. We found a tree with amazing cedar beads so the kids each got a bunch to make a necklace for conference. It will keep them buys hammering the other hole in it. Kyle calls cedar beads the sea glass of the dessert. I love that each of my family loves looking for tiny things in a giant place. For our anniversary which was the 10th we went to the Bob Seger concert in SLC. we shopped, visited with my high school friend Katie Mader, shopped some more, visited Ann and Alan Nelson (we had to take her some stuff she indian gave to us) so frustrating. She wanted a push broom but I told her the only one here is Kyle's from the other house. She wanted needle nose pliers, pliers, their old electric blower and some other stuff. I told Kyle we need to be strong and say ok I think thats everything but as we were leaving Kyle says let us know if there is anything else. I laughed so hard in the car about it. I don't want to answer her calls anymore, I know she is just wanting something else. I've sent her stuff in the mail, we have had a scholzen's truck take her stuff. Crazy. It's stuff that would be easier and cheaper for her to buy than us running it to her... Linda took the older 3 to the cabin, and Amy took Walter then when Linda got back Saturday she took them to Amy. The kids had a blast without us.

You found some real gems in those old photos. It seriously seems like just a few years ago, but I realize how fast time is flying and how old we are getting.
