AUGUST 2021

Jack turns 6! We did the annual Boulder Mountain stay for his birthday. Amy and Fam came, and also my mother and Mike. One scary thing that happened was the first night fishing walter fell into the lake. He had rain boots on and just sunk to the bottom. Travis and Kyle were next to him, so Kyle jumped in to save him. So freaky. We took the cots for their debut use in the tent. It was a ton of fun. We played an epic hide and seek game, which was surprisingly really fun. He got a pellet gun for his bday, and lots of knives.
Jack was selected for the Falcon Flight at 3 Falls Elementary. Each teacher chooses a student each month. He got a cool dog tag, and they played games with the principle. He was pretty excited.
Gus had his last first day of elementary he is in fifth grade dual immersion. His teacher is Mrs. Everett. Oliver started 3th grade, his teacher is Mrs. Henrie and Li Laoshi. Jack started 1st grade his teachers are Mrs. Davis and Chen Laoshi.
I left to go on my Main Salmon River Retreat with Into the Woods Wellness (Rachelle). Linie goes every year, and this year Mikayla went as well. I was super nervous, not about the kids I knew Kyle would do a better job at staying with them than I, but just overall nerves. Linda, Mikayla, and I drove to SLC Friday, then spent the night and picked up Shell on Saturday. We left in the evening Friday so we just had time to walk around Temple Square and then go to bed. We went to get Shell in the morning and she had slept in, so she was in a mad rush. We drove to Salmon Idaho Saturday. We had yummy food in Salmon, shopped at Arfmans (Linie spoiled us), then did our orientation with Brit (one of the guides). One of the gear boats flipped on the third day. Which was pretty intense. 2  of the (Robin's) were on the boat with Brady Bradley. He has been rowing for 10 years and has yet to flip one, everyone kept saying how grateful they were that Marker was there. He's had the most experience with gear boat flips, so his pulley system was crucial to them being able to flip it over. Linie and I were in the paddle boat, so we got the injured Robins and rowed to some sun with them to get them warm while they tried to flip the boat. I've included my journal entries from the trip. Enjoy
