kyle has a new obsession. what can I say, at least we are never bored at the ballard residence. he tells me he is getting pretty good and fast... after fhe tonight he wanted to show off his tricks. I will let you know when he gets good and how fast it really was.
pioneer children sang as they walked and walked etc.
for the 24th of july my mother and mike rented this gigantic slide for the kids. They spent a solid 2 hours going down non stop. True to Hurricane style in the afternoon the clouds turned dark and the wind blew, but that didn't stop them. I was going to go down but it was pretty wicked at the bottom (a couple of injuries occured) so I stayed clear. Kdiddy represented the ballard clan and went down though. We had a bbq afterwards, I was in charge of homemade rootbeer (delicious), well technically I put myself in charge of that. The night ended with fireworks. Thank you pioneer children for this lovely holiday!

Nursery
I got really ambitious all of a sudden and decided to paint the baby room. I didn't go a shade lighter, when I was at home depot amongst the thousands of colors I forgot the color Summer ever told me to do. So with my good eye:) I picked one that is pretty dang close. I am happy with the blue and green choices as well. One step closer!!
Apricots Anyone
I think Kyle and I picked 30 pounds or more of apricots. The church farm opened up for families to come pick and boy did we pick. Kyle was kind enough, since it was his idea to pick them, to help me pit and puree the beauties. We got 8 gallons of puree out of the apricots we picked. They were very tasty, I can't wait to make jam when the weather is below 110 degrees outside!!
WWF Kolob
Our second annual wwf kolob campout was this past weekend. My mom and mike bought a lot so we roughed it there. Every family brought tin foil dinners for Friday night, and after Leslie taught the kids how to make homemade ice cream with plastic bags, ice, a tin can, and rock salt. We roasted mallows, had serious discussions, and didn't sleep! Naomi and stew road their bikes from Hurr. to Kolob a 30 mile ride on the hottest day of the year thus far so they didn't make the pic. I think they arrived at 9:30.
Nursery Ideas
Summer is amazing. I called her and told her my color choices for Gus' nursery and a few days later she sent me this pic, never mind she has has three children two who
are practically twinners in age. The walls will be a shade lighter gray.

Cue the Hallelujah Chorus
Sunday was usually ponytail day. He would try to get anyone to put one in his hair for him, I am happy to say I never helped out on that ritual!
Good bye skullet
I will never have to see your ugly presence again on my hubby's head!!!
Sometimes I wonder what in the heck he is thinking! In the last pic he got bub to put in a hemp braid into his hair:/
Lake Powell
The day after we arrived back from Cambria we got to go with the youth in our ward to Lake Powell for youth conference. The theme was spiritual boot camp. We had 26 youth, 3 boats, 10 leaders, and lots of sunshine. The bishops wife is from Page AZ so we had a fireside one night with authentic navajo tacos (the fry bread was delish) and then the next day she hooked us up at RD's (they have the most amazing oreo shakes!). The youth in our ward are amazing so much more spritiual then I was at their age! Kyle of course went fishing there I think he caught a cat fish, but I wasn't quick enough with the camera to capture the ugly beast!
Cambria
We went to Cambria, CA with my sis for a week because it was basically a free trip. We went to the beach everyday twice a day. Watched the fireworks at Moonstone beach in Cambria, watched the crazy parade Cayucus puts on, looked at the sand sculpture competition, went to San Luis Obispo to put our bubble gum on the famous bubble gum wall, and just relaxed!
