FEBRUARY 2015

February 2015

We started the month off by watching the Superbowl at my sister Ashlee's house. The only picture I took was the one of Oliver laying on his belly in front of the tv watching it. Gus went trapping with Kyle and they caught another bobcat. He loves going trapping with Kyle. We bought a paddle board, and luckily it was abnormally warm the first part of the month so Kyle took it on its maiden voyage. I was waiting for Kyle to fall over. The water was still really cold, so it would have been priceless to see. The boys fished while Kyle went out. We love Sand Hollow before the swimmers itch arrives. The next week the weather turned super cold and it snowed. We need the snow and it was so fun playing in it the half day we had it. We decided to make a bunny man instead of a snowman because it was closer to Easter than Christmas. We had a campout with the boys in the backyard, complete with s'mores of course. Oliver got voted off the island because he was jumping up and down on everything and would not lay down for the life of him. That meant him and I slept inside. A reward or a punishment. Depends on how you look at the situation:/ Gus' good friend Cory our neighbor moved a few months ago, it was really hard. Gus would go outside and yell Cory, Cory and then I would have to remind him that they moved. Thats usually how they started playing was just yelling each others names. Anyways, we have had him over a few times to play, their imagination while they are together is pretty epic. The have bug game wars, I think that is what they were playing when I snapped the picture of their heads together on the tramp. Oliver and Gus love to pester each other. I took the pictures of Oliver sitting on Gus while watching a show because Gus sometimes is tolerant of Oliver's pesky moves. Too cute to pass up on the picture. For Joy School we took the boys to the Fire Department and Gus was super anxious the entire time there. Anxious/shy that boy loves fire trucks and policemen, but when we are around any of them he is super shy. Oliver loved it as well, of course. Oliver fell asleep in my arms one afternoon which is super rare. Its hard to just sit there for an hour and not get anything accomplished, but I also find it really important to find quiet time like that to reflect on how innocent they are and how impatient I am sometimes with them. It was a needed quiet time. I haven't been super patient lately, or maybe they have been extra whiny lately? It's a toss up for sure. Oliver is my lover of books. I often find him in that spot in his room looking through book after book. He loves for us to read books to him, book after book after book. In the morning he will grab a book and bring it to you and say book. For the past 4-5 months Gus has been sleeping in a "tent" in his room. Its pretty cute, and annoying to have to put up and take down every night and morning, but alas whatever makes his heart happy right?! Last but not least the patriarch of the family had another birthday! The big dirty thirty 30! It was hard for him turning so old, he is just a young buck in my book. We made him his favorite boston cream pie for his cake.
