A quarter of a century old, and what do you wish the theme of your party to be? Of course pirates! Well, actually it was Noah's idea, I gave him the choice of Nemo or pirates and he chose pirates. He just could not wait for Kyle to get back from fishing, we had to have the party Thursday for that very reason. We had a treasure map that led Kyle to his treasure, and thanks to Summer's mad cutting out skills, we had a fierce looking pirate on the boston cream pie. So months ago I came up with the most ingenius idea. What is it you ask? Well, if you know the Ballards you will know how much they adore their Dunford Donuts and their boston cream pie, so my idea was to combine the two. Can I just say it is the most heavenly and deadly thing in one bite, all those calories but nothing but goodness to your taste buds. Kyles birthday consisted of fly fishing (of course), going to the Drake film festival (fly fishing magazine event of the year), going to the salt lake temple, eating a fancy dinner at Chic Fil A, and all of those screamin babies! Happy Birthday Kyle
New Beginnings
Whilst in the young womens you get to help plan and execute certain things like new beginnings. I had one of the young women help me execute this gathering for a ten hour project. I am very glad she was willing to help because we had a lot to do. The theme was centered around a talk by Marvin J Ashton found here it is a very good talk I highly recommend it. So since it was V-day only two days ago we did the whole heart theme.
On another note. I bought one of those nifty indoor mini green houses so I can start growing some herbs. The little plants decided to come to life last week, and I am so excited about them.

The Husband Can Cook
So the husband and I decided he would cook once a week, but after this meal I think it really should be more often. Linnie taught him well! I have never had whole artichokes before this, and now I think they are my new favorites.
How Does Your Garden Grow
We have decided to grow a garden. If it will grow we don't know, in past years it has, and after twenty-one bags of fertilizer I sure hope it does. We are going to be working on our backyard soon, so that means no garden at our house, but luckily Shirls always lets us take over hers:) We have planted spinach, lettuce, peas, and onions thus far. We will see how it goes!
