AUGUST 2017
Jack the wild child turned 2 this month! We took him to get some awesome balloons and donuts, then we rode bikes up by the baseball fields and then we ended at the park. This was all before 11 in the morning. He is such a cute little boy. He keeps us busy, but is also lots of fun. Gus and Oliver wrapped him some presents (some of their old toys) He loves his brothers.
Gus had his first day of first grade! He was really sick the day school started so this is actually the second day of school. We put him in the Chinese dual immersion program. Halfway through the day he switches classrooms and teachers and does Chinese. He still was a little sick with a cold and cough so I wanted to express to the teacher that he might want to call home because he was sick, but the second day of school he had Chinese first so I went in there and said that and she just said Ne how (Hi), and wouldn't really say anything else. I guess she never speaks English in front of them. So I said my goodbyes, and prayed he would be brave enough to say something if he didn't feel well. Bostyn Beams is in his class again. We love that girl. He looks petrified in the picture I took of him
We finally cleaned out the scorpions home. the scorpion pictured ate the other scorpion. I think because my kids never feed them. Which reminds me they need to feed it again.
Bris came to visit one morning.
Oliver had his first day of preschool. He is totally opposite of Gus. He was so excited to start, and didn't even care if I brought him in or said goodbye. I had to stay with Gus for a little while when he started.
We walk Gus to school almost every morning. I think we have only missed 7-10 times and its the 72nd day of school. I just need to figure out where everyone is going to fit on the stroller when this other baby comes. So this is a funny picture. This couple walked their kid to school and then on the way home they preceded to play catch. Like she ran in front and he threw it to her. I was laughing really hard inside.
One day we walked to pick Gus up from school. That was a big mistake. It was 110 degrees. Our faces were bright red when we got home. So we loaded up and went to dairy queen and got slushies.
Our first four wheeler accident. The picture of Kyle with all of the kids on the four wheeler was taken just moments before the accident. I stayed at the cabin to start cooking, Kyle had already started the dutch oven. The first thing I hear is Kyle yelling at everyone to hold on as they go up the steep driveway to the cabin. I could sense in his voice something was wrong. I run out, Oliver is in Kyle's arms passed out. Kyle said he let go of the gas and it jolts a little because there were a few bumps coming up and Oliver flew off the four wheeler. Kyle said he saw him fly in front and to the side of them. So he runs over, Oliver is unconscious Kyle thinks he killed him. So he is yelling at trying to wake him up. He wakes up for a second and he loads everyone on the four wheeler and comes to the cabin. He said he was only going like 10-15 miles per hour, but Oliver had just found an arrowhead and wasn't holding on so he flew off. Fell head first. We load up in the truck, and race off of the mountain. I've never come home that fast. We go to instacare Dr. Worwood checks him out, says he has a moderate concussion and to watch him closely the next few days. Don't let him do anything to stimulating to the brain. I guess its ok for them to sleep but movies make you think the opposite. So the whole drive I tried to keep him awake. We were lucky that Heavenly Father was watching out for him that day thats for sure.
Checking out the solar eclipse.
More Kolob days
One of our many swimming days at Grandma's. We went everyday after Kyle got home from work
My mom has this power wheels jeep. Jack is absolutely obsessed. Its pretty fun to watch him drive it around and move it from drive to reverse. He is a good little driver.
A picture of Gus in his Chinese classroom. He hated it the first few weeks, but now enjoys it. It's amazing how much he has learned in the short time he has been in it.
We went to Dinner with Dusty, Amanda, and Rosie, then met up at the all abilities park. The park is amazing, and it wasn't busy when we went. Most days its packed, like you have to wait in lines like disneyland to use the stuff. It's an awesome park thats for sure.
After the all abilities park we went to the airport to welcome henrietta home from his mission
Rosie had a birthday in August as well. Her birthday party was crazy ridiculous. She said she tried to keep it under $500, but I bet Kilo's italian ice was that alone. It was unreal. She rented cloth napkins from a bridal rental place, their were mini pineapples everywhere. Craziness. The boys loved it
Jack's new pout pout face he started this month
If you leave Jack alone for a few minutes in the bathroom, he WILL empty out all of Kyle's containers of fine lotions and creams. lol I want to make a book similar to If you Give A Mouse A Cookie, but mine will be titled If You Leave Jack Unattended.
Sad story. I wanted the kids to enter something into Peach Days. So I had them each make a different kind of popcorn. Oliver's was titled Unicorn Poop (just koolaide popcorn). Gus' was salted caramel popcorn. We take it down to Peach Days and they tell me I'm a day late to enter... All of that work!
If we aren't running late to walk to school, Jack gets to ride his scooter. He is so coordinated for a 2 year old. He will ride all of the way there, which is close to a mile
This is what Jack does when he hears something. He will cover his ears and say "hear somhing mama" Then I have to acknowledge what he hears. pretty cute. He says the same thing when he "smells somhing mama" and I have to say yep you smell smoke, or you smell the horse poop
Mountain biking Goulds trail. They all can officially do the whole thing. I walked behind them and snapped pics.
Being sick I handed over my responsibilities of the 12k to Amy this year. I still helped a ton, but it was lots less stressful having her in charge. The shirts were so cute. We had Cheri Santiago design them for us.
Swimming after the Peach Days Parade.
This plant was at the all abilities park. I want to plant a few in my backyard. I loved that it stayed so pretty even during the extreme summer months. I can't remember what Linie said it was.
