Jack Jack attack my little monster child turned 1! He is full of energy, for example I just finished hand mopping my entire floor and he walks in with an otter pop and flings it EVERYWHERE. Another example, I just swept the porch off, put the broom away and while I was gone those 3 seconds he dumped an entire bowl of popcorn on the ground. I could go on and on. He can say mama and dada, duck, ba (bug). He wakes up 1-2 times at night. He loves to eat, eat, and eat some more. He has a special friendship with our duck. He is the only one that can get right next to the duck almost touching it. The duck will follow him around everywhere. It is pretty cute to see.
Gus lost his first tooth! His plan was to pull it out in front of everyone at Jack's birthday party. Aunt Ashlee pulled it out for us. I don't do teeth very well. He was so very excited. The tooth fairy brought him sparkly $10 and teeny tiny note from her telling him to take care of his teeth and always brush.
This big kid had his first day of Kindergarten this month. I wanted to do a big ugly cry when Kyle and I dropped him off like one of the other moms their. I held my composure though because Gus looked like he was about to and we didn't need both of us crying. When I picked him up he was so happy. We took him to DQ to get ice cream and talk about the first day. I miss him being gone those 2 hours and 45 minutes. I was going to do the typical printout first day of kindergarten but I decided it would more fun to see his penmanship change every year with each grade. We practiced and practiced for his Kindergarten assessment. He forgot how to write some of his letters over the summer. I didn't work with him at all on it. He isn't in OEK so I guess he did pretty well.
Some of our weekends at Kolob. We camped with the Barney's on my moms property one weekend. It started raining so we bombarded Bruce and Linda for a little bit to get out of it. Gus and Oliver love to fish. It's a good thing because Kyle is their Daddio. Gus keeps asking Kyle about fly fishing, I'm excited for that next adventure. Kyle has a deep passion for fly fishing. I spent many weekends at Slum's and Adam's while Kyle went fishing in Idaho. Sometimes we will be talking about things in SLC and he will say I don't remember that. The answer is always I was alone with Slum's family while you were fishing. I took a picture of the neighbors fish windmill. It's pretty awesome. Linda goes on a walk bright and early every morning and then comes back and we go kayaking. I heard her say this weekend to Bruce "theres a lake with my name on it" It's fun to adventure around the lake and find different critters.
Caitlyn aka Gator left to China to teach English to those poor Asians;) So the day before I took their family pictures. I'm gonna miss that girl. She gets back December 20th.
We grew this huge cucumber in our garden. I think we measured and it was 26 inches. Gus is my little gardener.
Gus found treasures with Bossy, Grandma, and Lirpa one morning. I got to watch Miss Bris for a little bit while Marylu went to the grocery store. Jack loves to hit and scratch her. We are working on the action for "soft"
This is how we roll sometimes. I don't remember why, but Gus didn't want to ride his bike home so I put it in the car with Jack and me. Grandma saved the day and rode him home
Oliver got this amazing black eye from his daddio. They went fishing at Blue Springs and Kyle was having issues with his rod, so he went to cast and it got stuck and he said man this rod is acting weird so he pulled as hard as he could and then it cast. Right then Oliver starts screaming. Oliver was standing behind Kyle and his hook got stuck to the right of his eye and Kyle pulled the hook through his skin. He gave him this massive black eye. Kyle said it was gushing blood. Poor Oliver only cried for a second. He really is my brave tough kid. One day he said he didn't want a purple eye and was crying to I covered it up with makeup:)
Miss Bris comes to visit me daily. On this occasion Gus needed Grandma to help him get his bug collection ready for Peach Days so she brought Georgia with her. Marylu is really good at documenting and taking pictures.
One night when Kyle and I had a Peach Days meeting Amy and Trav took the boys. They took them on a hike and had a picnic in three falls. Amy said Gus looked up at the sky and said the clouds looked like heaven. sweet kid
My new best friend was born. Rosie she was a chunk! 8 pounds. I still haven't been able to see her. Every time we have tried the kids have been sick or they were in Richfield. She has the chunkiest cheeks evah!
This is Bubbles the chicken and Gum the duck. I let the chicken out one day and they were best friends just walking around everywhere together and doing duck/chicken things. I found the owner of the duck and told her we had it. She said oh one of these days I don't work we will come get it. That was 3 or 4 weeks ago. I think it is ours to keep. Its the funniest duck. It roams our yard, if any kids are walking by it goes up and quacks at them like a dog. If a car drives by it will quack at it. I have come to love that little duck.
Jack is a nuisance when I am cooking dinner. He climbs out of his little hook on high chair and tries to help with everything. On this day he decided to try the peach pie I made. He also decided to not only dump his spaghetti all over but his grabby hands reached over and grabbed Oliver's plate as well. I feel like after every meal I have to deep clean my entire kitchen because of my kids. Rice is the worst!
Gus found this grasshopper in the car port one day. I pinned it on the board that Gma Linie gave him. I was pretty impressed with my pinning abilities on this one. I'm getting better at it. They found a praying mantis while picking apples in New Harmony, and I could not get myself to pin it. For some reason it was grossing me out really badly.
Homework has begun. In Kindergarten they don't require you to do it, but he gets a sticker on his folder if he brings it back on Fridays so we try to do most of it. I like it when Kyle has to help him with it. Funny thing one day Kyle couldn't figure out one of the math problems. It was great, although it was only because the wording was really dumb in the instructions.
Well, we sold the Hot Mess 2 to the Michler's. It was a sad day, but we needed the money because Kyle bought a better Bronco. We made many good memories in the Hot Mess 2, it was a great cruzin around vehicle. Now to getting the Bronco to run.
Luke Hirschi is a pretty great kid. He is really nice to my kiddos. We swim a lot with him. Well one Sunday Kyle called him over because he is just a fun kid to talk to. He was teaching Gus how to play football.
Kyle brought Jack home one Sunday because he was a fuss bucket. He laid by him on the floor and Jack fell right to sleep.
My kids being crazy at Aunt Amy's house one Sunday.
Paul Thompson passed away. He was one of my favorite people ever. He and Marba taught our temple prep class when we were getting ready to go. Well, we had Amy watch the kiddos while we went to his viewing. We came back to them making the cornstarch and water concoction. It's not slime but kinda like it. They had really cute aprons on:)
