AUGUST in Pictures

August, you happened so long ago I forget what we even did. I know we went to a couple of movies, Turbo and Despicable Me 2 I believe. We went on lots of cool car (my moms vw bug) rides, we went to sweet baby lola's baby blessing, then to Gma and Gpa Ballards Anniversary party. She wasn't there she ended up in the hospital after a fall. Gus got a haircut. We went to Kolob for FHE and went fishing. There must have been a fire somewhere because we got to watch a helicopter come and get water out of the lake a couple of times. While the boys fished, Oliver and I went running. Kyle and I did some long training runs for the st. george marathon...

Ollie Boy at 6 Months

Weight: 15 pounds :: 8th percentile

Length: 25.25 in :: 9th percentile

Head Circ: 17.7 in :: 80th percentile

These pics are closer to 7 months then 6 months. We finally realized why Ollie looks so chunky, its his head. Unfortunately he gets it from me, my fam has big heads hopefully he grows into it soon. At 6 months Gus weighed .3 ounces more but was 1 inch taller as well. Ollie is my little squishy baby. He is such a happy boy, content as ever. 

He is not such a great sleeper though. He wakes up every 2-3 hours, I want to sleep train him. I'm worried to start though because he shares a room with Gus and heaven knows I don't want 2 boys awake crying at 3 in the morning. He still sleeps in our room with us, he looks so huge in the bassinet. To fall asleep he usually will take his pacifier and his silky and roll around for awhile until he falls asleep. Sometimes I have to bounce him. 

We started Ollie on food this month, he loves rice cereal, squash, yams, peas, he is so so with sweet potatoes. 

He is a roller. I will put him on the rug and next thing I know he has rolled across the room, usually to the rocking chair in the front room. He loves propping his feet up on something (like Kyle). So when he rolls to the rocking chair it is usually so he can prop his feet on it and push it with his feet. He sits up for a short period of time, I have been practicing with him everyday.

Ollie is a social guy, he loves when people talk to him. He has been pretty quiet until the last week or so, but now he jibber jabbers like crazy. He absolutely adores Gus when Gus isn't pestering him. 

July in picture form

July went by too quickly. The first part of the month we were in Cambria, then for the 24th of July my mom rented a huge waterslide. Gus and I went down it a million times. Kyle and I went on our first date on 7/7/01 so we have been together for 12 years. July brings marathon training for me and Kyle hit 6,000 miles on his bike this month. I went to Lindsey Hurst's house for a girls night out where we talked and ate yummy treats. I am the beehive advisor and we took the girls to do baptisms for the dead in July. Gus got new nursery teachers so we took his old nursery teachers a card that read thanks for being such a magical nursery teacher and we gave them mallow magic. He asks for his other nursery teachers every week. We met my sisters at quail lake for an afternoon of sun and water. Mama Linie took us to Despicable Me 2 when Rash got home from Italy. We had oodles and oodles of fun this month.

Ollie Boy

I feel so bad not updating on this cute little piece of heaven we call Oliver. With Gus I did it every month, but there never seems to be enough time to do it with Oliver. Really I hate waiting for my pictures to load, and my priorities have switched. Maybe too much time in the insta world who knows?? 

This little boy is a dream boat, nothing short of a slice of your favorite dessert mine would be strawberry shortcake. His usual schedule goes as follows. Wakes around 8 by talking and cooing and giggling to himself. He must eat, first things first, just like his momma. He takes a nap around 10 for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. His next nap is around 1 ish, he likes to sleep on and off until 4 or so during this nap. He likes to take another nap around 6-7 for 30 minutes or so. Then he goes to bed anywhere from 9-10. 

He still eats every 2 hours, just like Gus. Why do my kids do this??? I am going to start him on rice cereal this week, hopefully that will help. He loves chewing on his teether toy 

He loves when Gus gives him any sort of attention, and will smile from ear to ear or even laugh. Gus loves him so much, we bring Oliver with us to wake Gus up now which has been nothing short of genius on our part. Gus usually cries and whines when we wake him, but when we bring Oliver in he just sits right up and starts talking to Ollie boy saying things like "good morning brother" "sleep good" 

We think this little boy is teething, he is always drooling and chewing on his fingers. The last couple of days he has been unusually whiney, I think it may be from his teeth but then the other night I noticed he was pulling on his ears.
